I love these videos dissecting like the history of Slender, because I was super into it for a long time. I still think TribeTwelve, EverymanHYBRID and Marble Hornets were incredible series because MH laid the groundwork for subsequent takes on the mythos, and EMH/TT respectively were able to do a lot of interesting stuff with it, while also expanding on it in their own unique ways. The official big-budget movies were always dog ass though because they missed the point of how campy and unnerving a lot of the low-budget web series were

I was always interested in the design of Slender Man and some of the mythos surrounding the guy, but to me, a character can only be so good without an implicit origin. I have 4 ideas of who slender man could be (my favorite starting up version) he could be just a sociopath with mechanical tentacles wearing a faceless mask (kinda like a twisted doc oc). he could be result of a horrible mutation, he could've fused with an alien to show the version of slender man we're familiar with, or he's possesd by a demon from the necronomicon. Those are my 4 ideas of his origin that sound cool, and it could be from an actually good movie instead of the crappy embarrassment that was the actual movie.

I forget if we ever got confirmation on this, so treat it like a rumor, I remember hearing this movie was supposed to be absolutely fucking nuts. Wild shit that was supposed to be way more intense. But the studio was like, "I don't know how far we should take this since those two kids almost killed their friend, so how about we tone it down."

I did the same thing for renting a movie (The first live action Sonic movie) to watch with my partner at the time and same thing happened to me where I got it for UHD but it was capped at 480p. I got a refund for it though after watching the movie by complaining about it so that's nice at least! :)
