Very nice guide, Banshee seem like a godsend even though for some reason I don't like using it xD! I almost succumbed to the temptation of using Banshee but I managed to survive without them with Cairne. Near the start, after the first small wave from the top, there are two abominations coming from the top too, and Cairne alone can stunlock them permanently. It doesn't even really matter what level Cairne is. At the same time you just throw a push on the right with a good tank (either cairne or stonehoof) and support (healer plus anti-air ranged) which will take care of all the gargoyle on the way to the right tower and then the boss. When you take the tower you can double the power of your push (while Cairne is still doing his thing alone with the dying two abominations) and finish the game as this boss doesn't seem to be using any spells. I used the safe pilot to take care of a banshee on the right and there was no time for one to take my Cairne before the victory (and if Cairne is fighting abos, half of the time the banshee would fail anyway and be stunned by the AoE).

I used Grommash as leader for bloodlust and in combination with harpies was pretty good. Also harpies were good for Banshee. For abomination the combination of Quilboar (talent Bramble burst) and Chimaera for poison and finally Huntress with elven might as talent. It worked!

Looks like some old footage. Now it starts with the banshee on the bottom line and also sends a lot of Huntresses which kills banshee before she attack and also Aboms hook it and kill before she gets to possess the Abom. Plus in front of aboms almost always goes the Ghull or Plague farmer - which makes it pretty impossible to possess the Abom through them.

It is brand-new footage from the current patch. If the AI plays their minis in a different order, you may need to think, that is what the game is all about. The guide gives you all the tools you need to beat the encounter.

Abom grapple has a greater range than my banshee. Is it a level thing? I thought range distance was fixed

@@Qwerty0791Abomination grapples Banshee on level ground with good visibility but cannot one-shot it so Banshee steals it anyway.

@@OldGuardian My banshees are under-leveled, so that makes sense. Thanks for the response! I ended up just going with an all-airborne team + sylvie’s black arrow.

@@Qwerty0791Abomination needs to be 4 levels higher than the Banshee to one-shot it. In heroics, where Abominations have talents, this can change, as some of those deal additional damage. You can still distract the abomination by having it hook something else first or by stunning it if you have stuns in your army.

I found the Banshee and the Bat Rider to be too unreliable in this map, because the Abominations and Gargoyles are always supported by Plague Farmers in the front and/or huntresses in the back. Also my Firehammer was way too underleveled (lvl 9). The only way I managed to beat this boss was with Tauren (with the double charge talent) and SAFE pilot (with the burning talent) for taking chests and killing huntresses, Drake and Whelps against Abominations and Pyro against Gargoyles. Bandits to cycle and as a last resort to stun Abominations getting too close to my base. Taking one tower was enough.

I think you got lucky on your draws or something this was impossible for me. But I changed hero to jaina and dark iron dwarf to execute. I didn’t even need to steal any aboms after that. Jaina helps ward off gargoyles and makes execute stronger. Great for both gargoyles and aboms. If you lose a tower to a gargoyle just execute the tower back and the gargoyle

How low is your Banshee? Abomination cannot kill a near-level Banshee with the single hit it gets in after the hook. Hook itself deals no damage. You can distract the Abomination if needed.

This is hardest boss. Campaign completed except for this. Banshee, fire and prowler are all too low level.
