I built the C5b at Lockheed. Actually, I fixed mistakes on the airframe. My house was ~12 miles away, on a suburban lake. And often the lake was on the glidepath for all 4 airports. They would fly right over our house! I always liked the big jets flying low, but the best was when a C5 was headed to the NAS, and the runway Lockheed also shared. Because of the size of these big lumbering beasts, they always looked closer than they were. And looked to be flying impossibly slow! And those engines had a unique sound. I'd always watched them coming in. Even the dogs would watch! I am not a TP fan, as his movies are not made for me. But I am very impressed that he owns and flies this monster.

My dad is part owner of one of the biggest contractors in L.A. They do work on most of the celebrity's homes. When he was doing a job on Tyler Perry's house he said there is a vacant hillside right next to his property and there are a good amount of crashed RC vehicles that have been crashed into the hillside. It's a huge hobby of Tyler Perry's that I personally wasn't aware of For the record my dad was working there for over a year and he would see TP out there on many occasions flying his different vehicles and crashing a few. These things aren't cheap and I don't know what type or how many vehicles are there. I don't know how long Tyler has been flying these but this job took place about 5 years ago so maybe TP was new to this back then. I really don't know. What I DO know is there are a good number of crashed vehicles on a hillside next to his house. Im sure thats goes with the hobby. You lose some of your toys sometimes. Its totally understandable

Superlatively ozzom. But misses several points. It's so large, that it needs a hangar by an airfield. Actually it looks abour the size of a Cessna 152. Then this amazing thing is as expensive as a premium luxury car or more, or than, an pre-owned Cessna 152 or Piper Tomahawk in which you can fly from the inside and with one pax, which is the real thing. Being myself a GA pilot but an inept RC pilot, I find it not justifiable to get myself a toy that costs ½ or ¼ of the price of my house, and which I would probably crash land pretty soon....
@EssentialRCАй бұрын
The owner has his own justifications, and sometimes it's enough to create something unique. It doesn't need a hangar. It breaks down into large components. Is how it got transported to Germany from US for this show.
