@@subdued_geodude_ Yeah i'm glad someone else feels this way, always been kinda conflicted about Hasan as a desi dude. Especially since he said in a recent podcast thing with Riz ahmed that the reason he went after his own communities in the first two episodes of patriot act was to put people (i'm assuming white people) at ease when he starts criticizing america. Not that his criticisms were invalid but the subtle implication (at least the way i read it) that those episodes were meant to make white audiences more comfortable made me feel kinda uneasy. Also kinda feel like Ramy has a better balance of criticizing his own community while still showing a clear pride and love for it, where as Hasan seems like he can go a bit overboard with the self deprecation but maybe i'm just projecting there.

Really enjoyed watching. I especially liked the episodes that featured the sister, the mother, and the uncle (that one was *so* sad). The only other North American show I've seen that featured Muslims as main characters was a Canadian sitcom called "Little Mosque on the Prairie." It was on a bunch of years ago. I'm not into most sitcoms but I really liked it at the time, normalizing Islam for non-Muslim viewers; that said, "Ramy" is a big step forward.

I feel the same way about drugs and alcohol. I'm 43 and have never done either. I really feel like if i started I wouldn't stop.
