As impressive as all these builds are. The environment you are building these planes in is incredible. Perry is a serious RC hobbyist and having you build these in his home hangar/shop must be a delight to work in. Such a clean and bright shop and BIG! No expense spared in this mans hobby.

@@MatthewNovoselskiy You may not have seen many of the past videos, but, TP has scaled down, as much as he is now scaling up(number vs size). I don't think that him being a (and lets correct this) billionaire, really has anything to do with it. He is being a great host to his builder, and they both really seem to appreciate eachother. At least, from the videos I've seen. I've seen "thousandaires" have some amazing shops to work in.

This is absolutely insane, I love it! There is just one thing I would like to mention: I noticed that you use regular Servo wire. Please remembar that at this lenght, regular servo wire has a significant resistance and thus voltage drop. Example: If you use 6m of wire to your Elevator Servos, a regular 0,25mm2 wire will have a voltage drop of 0,8V at 1A and 2,5V at 3A. On such a big model, you don't want the voltage at the servo to drop 2,5V.

This is changing the world of RC airplanes and helping other people realize this is possible (on probably a way smaller scale for most). This is just badass. Can’t wait to see it fly! With stabilization it’s going to look 100% real with how light and slow it may fly.

If you want to ride in an airplane, there's no reason for it to be RC. Hire an instructor and jump into a Cessna. After that, you'll be much less interested in it being radio controlled.

Hi Ramy. A couple of questions: 1) Do you install counterweights on the leading edge of the rudder to reduce the load on the servo? 2) Have you tried a "washer" roller when laying up fibreglass? (row of alternate large washer, small spacer washer on a roller bar). Helps eliminate air pockets. Hope your next aircraft is a 1:1 Europa...

Been following for a long time now and I really appreciate the attention to detail. I did notice one thing though… I know the C17 very well after working on it for 9 years and it has a double hinged split rudder. I know it would be very hard to incorporate that some how but it is a very distinct feature of the aircraft. Anyways keep up the great work and keep the videos coming!!

Ramy, respect! Keeping fingers. But about surface quality - you need to prepare foam surface perfectly before applying carbon or glass. Use some light putty. Because every mistake on foam will copy to final surface. As you can see .... harder glue lines etc. Perfect prepared foam surface will save a lot of weight because less epoxy can be used.

@johnsnow1355 Жыл бұрын
@@judd_s5643 sure there is it's all carbon fiber and once it's in the air the wings provide massive lift the engines would just be idling to keep it cruising level flight. The wings the tail the fuselage can easily support enough surface area and watts to keep two large EDF running to keep it flying continuous. Having watched him fly his biggest planes there is barely any throttle used after it takes off.

As usual with your work, I am totally impressed. But I am a little concerned about control surface flutter and possible structural issues. This plane is going to see serious loading which appears in some parts to rely on a relatively thin layer of foam. And control servo redundancy sounds like a good idea. I have too much experience with major failures in all those areas and my models are much smaller and less expensive (or dangerous).

Really cool watching your videos the past couple of years and seeing how much and how fast you have progressed. I see you are using carbon fiber over foam (I suppose?). The first time I saw that was six or seven years ago. I watched some videos that showed Lamborghini using it in their manufacturing process of unusually shaped parts. They used some kind of hot wire candc machine looking thing to produce the shapes and covered them in carbon fiber like you are doing. I've always wanted to try it, but at least I can see it being done here.
