I wish that I lived closer to my son and grandson. That way I can help look after my grandson when he gets out of school or if my son has to travel. His 2nd wife wants a divorce and just packed up and left them. My grandson comes from his first marriage.

I'm sorry to hear that... I hope the 1st wife left because something unexpected. I understand wanting to give your grandson a mom by your son, but in this time and age... I hate to say it, but a great deal of women nowadays don't like/want children nor form a traditional family, most so if one of the pair already has a growing child. Political trends and all that jazz. My sugestion for him, don't have to take it, would be to concentrate raising the child, and try to convince him to live near you. Maybe this is blunt, but if he has time and resources to find a 2nd or 3rd mom, he also has it to move near you and let you help him. For me, that would be the best. And the magic of this is that, while he is doing it, he may find the right one, but don't tell him this last piece, or he may concentrate on the wrong goal.
