In the video the guitar player presses the guitar body against his leg and pulls the next to get that detuned sound, (not a whammy). Would be interested to know if that is how he did it for the studio recording. Great video and lesson!!

Hey Marty your lessons are great particularly like the poison Every Rose Has Its Thorn one. I always love the guitar in REO Speedwagon Roll with The Changes. Any chance that you can teach us that one all the guitar parts?

I agree but it might just be the midrange of those velvet hammer humbuckers in Joan's Melody Maker (I think Ricky Byrd or Eric Amble played it for that).

I used to think everything I posted needed to be gymnastic level guitar playing, when actually a large majority of my viewers are just learning chords and rhythm. So I cover a lot of ground and levels. But try to stay true to songs that actually have cool parts and things you can learn and grow from at all levels. It's a tad tricky at times.
@johnvirga61815 ай бұрын
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker If you consider this a tad tricky then how the hell could you have possibly posted anything "Gymnastic Level". This is basically beginner stuff but I guess it gets you a few views.

@@johnvirga6181 I think you want to argue vs truly understanding the meaning of my response. Or take the time to look at my channel in more depth and how it works. If that's the case then there are plenty of other channels for you to view that offer what you're looking for. Which is ok.

@@johnvirga6181 I do welcome comments, so here we are. But I do feel it warrants a reply when someone says something like "if you consider this tricky then how the hell can you post something gymnastic level". I teach students in person and online and there are players that cannot bend a note to pitch with out struggling. I work with them frequently. So it is tricky. Maybe not for you. But it is tricky. I never take for granted what others may or may not know how to do or can do. I cast a wide net on here. Not pursing anything really. People comment. I reply. Sometimes it's not what they want to hear, or perhaps my response gives people a different perspective. I can't control any of that. I just try to do my best to offer videos that others will find value in.
