I'm on my "fiancée"'s account here, but I'm a 31 year old woman. Im on my way out for what feels like is way too early due to a liver and kidney disease, which makes me feel lame because all of my prior attempts didn't work and now that its happening, I'm oddly not ok with it. ANYWAY - my original point to this comment was to say that I listened to this song and album sooooo much each time I got hospitalized. Its absolutely both crazy and awesome how music can be our tether back to life and how it affects us all. Its cool (but also not cuz I wouldn't wish it on even my worst enemy let alone a stranger) to at least hear someone else say what I think. Please believe me when I say I genuinely hope things are getting better for you.

This album was controversial upon its release with many fans citing it as the SELLING OUT of Rancid. I was a freshman in High School when this came out and it divided the punk community, mainly due to their association with GOOD CHARLOTTE and Kelly Osbourne in the video. I personally loved this album as a 14 year old skater and bass player from Miami. With Rancid being seen as one of the last of the true punk bands, this really divided a whole fanbase. They were actually booed at Warped Tour that year in 2003 in West Palm Beach. I still jam it. I'm older now and I say WHO CARES!! IT ROCKS!! INDESTRUCTIBLE!

I never got the hate for non hard core punk. I mean the Ramones were never Hardcore. And they are as punk as it gets. I love The Ramones, but I also like the Sex Pistols, I like the Clash, but I also like the Exploited. To each their own I say. But one can't dictate what's punk and what's not. Green Day and Rancid are both punk to me. Eff what everyone else says.

Whoa,....homie!... Bro, I...{{sigh of awkward speechlessness}}...that's some pretty heavy shit. I'm really, honestly, sincerely sorry that you've had to endure such a condition. But!,...its good to hear you're making & breaking landmarks like you say. Ya see,....{{sigh...}}...well, obviously you don't know me, but the reason it was (is) difficult for me to find words to broach the subject is because my mom eventually died of what started out as breast cancer. It got better, then it came back as melanoma on her leg, and then,....{{sharp inhale}}...then it spread to her brain and spine. From there, it was just a matter of time. Some time did indeed pass, until finally March 3rd of 2000 came 'round. All I have to say is that I'm just really glad I was there standing by her bed side. I mean,...yanno, it's a memory that is bittersweet, but the thing is,...most of the time people don't get to be there when a loved one dies. I was...so I consider myself lucky. Wow, okay! Sorry, lol...dragged on a bit more than I'd planned. So anyway man,...shit sucks, sorry you got dealt that hand, glad to hear you're improving on a stellar scale, and uhm,...well, I empathize. As I said, I have a rather intimate understanding of that bitch called 'cancer'. Oh yah, also,....Rancid's fuckin' awesome, am I right?! lol

punk isnt just about being rebellious and saying fuck all,its also avout speaking you mind and sometimes sharing your feelings , my point is its a great song with a good message and I'll be in love with this band till i die and possibly after that , thanks to this amazing band for making the days a lil easier, "when i got the music i got a place to go", truer words never been spoken

deaderthendead041 oath. This song makes me think of my friends. The ones that liked rancid but this was our jam, our song we yelled in each other's faces, the song we wanted to hear. Punk has so much love it's shocking that people consider it so brutal.
@deaderthendead0417 жыл бұрын
Likeabadgirlshould X agreed,i never knew that i identified so much with punk especially ska and how it's open-minded and accepting of anybody, basically like if you're cool with me I'm cool with you kind of attitude doesn't matter if you're a punk skinhead a hooligan a rude boy whatever you want to be called, its about being cool to one another and trying to enjoy the time that you have on this world with everyone else, I hope you always enjoy Punk and have a good life you sound like a good person👍

Don't worry about me, I'm gonna make it alright Got my enemies crossed out in my sight I take a bad situation gonna make it right In the shadows of darkness I stand in the light You see it's our style to keep it true I've had a bad year, a lot to go through I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue She's not the one coming back for you She's not the one coming back for you If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend [x2] It takes disaster to learn a lesson You're gonna make it through the darkest night Some people betray one and cause treason We're gonna make everything alright Well the worst of times, now, they don't phase me Even if I look and act really crazy I went way down, she betrayed me Now my vision is no longer hazy I'm very lucky to have my crew They stood by me when she flew I've been knocked out, beat down, black and blue She's not the one coming back for you She's not the one coming back for you If I fall back down, you're gonna help me back up again If I fall back down, you're gonna be my friend [x4]
