The government of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya officially stated that Libya is a direct democracy without any political parties, governed by its populace through local popular councils and communes (named Basic People's Congresses). Might I add that it was the wealthiest country in Africa, had more gold per capita than England, had oil resources and water. An when I say water I'm talking about The Great Man Made River. The world's largest irrigation project. Paid by the goverment for the people so when it was finished the had free water bills. Might I also add it was a debt free country, government initiated a process of directing funds toward providing education, health care and housing for all. Public education in the country became free and primary education compulsory for both sexes. Medical care became available to the public at no cost, but providing housing for all was a task the RCC government was not able to complete. Now does this sound like we needed to go over there and kill him. He was a savior to those people and they turn him into a martyr. They created a false narrative of this man and we still don't have what this man was giving to his people decades ago. ......SMDH

Rand Paul may be a lot of things but one thing he said that struck me and I think all of us is, "I dont think a Jihads are better than Asad, and I am not a fan of Asad". That critical thinking was lacking in the decisions to invade Iraq, and Libya. The dictators in these countries were certainly better than what is there now, and that is a horrible way to look at it but the people are worse off, the world is worse off.
