Ive never used a tube randall but their solid states sound AWESOME. i can only imagine how their tubes sound in person
@Whit3King16 жыл бұрын
i like the fact he used emg81and 85 like kirk Hammett does,makes the review more representative of what who its supposed to sound like
@dimedtexan13 жыл бұрын
Should include details about effects loop?, foot switch?, can you foot switch between modules or utilize more than one at a time? Love the idea of it all though.
@thermalegoogle15 жыл бұрын
Yeah I tried cranking the middles and it does make the sound a lot fatter ; it works pretty good, still keeps the texture of my neck pickup, and you can still hear pinch harmonics very well, so thanks =) Full bass and trebble and 0 middle makes the sound a lot of aggressive and sharp, adding middle makes it heavier, it takes more "space"
@syxxsyxxsyxx15 жыл бұрын
I think what everyone has to remember is that this amp is mainly used for his live set up. Although they say that its based on sounds from the album, this amp is strictly designed for his live sound. I have these modules and you can nail his live tone and in some cases some album tones. Respect the amp for what it is and not because its the metallica amp.

@MattiGardners15 жыл бұрын
no, if you find the video on youtube where kirks tech shows his current touring rig and you see the mesa rectifiers, the randall and i think there is a marshall too i cant remember tho
@Daver86913 жыл бұрын
@claudiodifazio14 I think he used to use Randall, Marshall and Mesa.

Damn, I would take a job at guitar world, it must be awesome playing and writing reviews on guitar gear for a living.
@GuitarnScythes15 жыл бұрын
I own an ESP SV and I can tell you that you're 100% right. Its just very simple: LTD = lower quality, lower price ESP = higher quality, higher price Its as simple as that. I've been playing esp guitars for a while I own 4 esp guitars. 1 Actual ESP and 3 LTDs, and i can guarantee you that the ESP is better than the 3 LTD.
@skiddemon6613 жыл бұрын
@710ble because with kirk's sound, you can mold it and change it to make YOUR sound. gotta start somewhere...

is this amp eny good for playing metallica cus im in serious dout if i wana buy it or not? plz help
@SGTSHOOTnMISS14 жыл бұрын
ive not been really big on Randall amps but i like the tone, and now the "Kirks sound" is guitar rig 4 :P but i know, this video was out before guitar rig 4
@themodernguitarist14 жыл бұрын
@RevisedTV Wait... I just agreed with you. =P But yeah, ESP released the EC-1000T, which will be the 1000 series equivalent of the 401VF. And I think the neck thickness will be the same size as a standard LTD neck
@jesusalvarado989810 жыл бұрын
paul can jam it out sometimes, just not with metal. Either way, always gives a great review. If you really listen, you'll hear what you want to hear.
@16cam20058 жыл бұрын
AWSOME bed head too!
@barisgurkann15 жыл бұрын
It is probably an American version of ESP Eclipse. I own the European version which has 4 knobs configuration and bronze inlay. Really nice guitar by the way

@TheBLOODLINEmusic Hi there, just one question please. Is there a big difference between LTD ec1000 deluxe and this eclipse? in sound I mean, THX
@goldfish88114 жыл бұрын
Paul has the greatest job in the world.
@trokeification14 жыл бұрын
@claudiodifazio14 Actually, he does. At least as a practice amp backstage. In The Big 4 DVD, with Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax, there's a bonus documentary that shows him practicing backstage with the rest of Metallica, and he's using this amp. I'm pretty sure he uses 2 of these heads in his rack too, along with 2 Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifiers.

@Ndesantis21215 жыл бұрын
what uve read is wrong, he always uses mesa boogies and occasionally marshall cabs
@AllenHarrison15 жыл бұрын
i wish they didnt model his sound from their new sound, if they got it close to the studio sound of Master or Justice, that would freakin sweet
@thermalegoogle15 жыл бұрын
the setup is ok if you like it, no rules for the tone try to come up with your own home made tone, better sound unique than like anybody else if you want a modern metal sound you generally have to put more bass and treble than middles, quite a lot of gain in general
@Joe.Shmo.Eskimo14 жыл бұрын
does kirk even use this amp? in all of the live videos i never see it...
@HarryRulesAll16 жыл бұрын
what kinda guitar is dat
@Overture215215 жыл бұрын
not really, LTD is basically ESP just built in either Korea or japan. But they usually have the same woods, and hardware. ESP are like 2000 dollars, and LTD are 1500 and less.

@RevisedTV Well everybody has different aspects and feeling of guitar. I personally think it feels great

@CypherThanatos13 жыл бұрын
@nonmusicman he is not allowed to play metallica stuff. Copyright laws or something like that.
@TheBLOODLINEmusic14 жыл бұрын
@antoniok99 Difference in sound, not really. They both sport an EMG 60-81 combo. The main difference in the two, is the ltd and ESP difference and where they're made. Also, the necks tend to feel different. When it comes to ESP Eclipse's, I'd go for the real ESP because it's only like another 100 bucks than the deluxe.
@RevisedTV14 жыл бұрын
I like the Eclipses that are as thick as the Les Paul, like the JH truckster, the regular EC's and how thin they are, feel really unstable to me
@themodernguitarist15 жыл бұрын
He uses an ESP KH-3, which is like an Eclipse, but I don't think he does as much anymore. I still think he uses a Gibson, but not sure.
@galking37114 жыл бұрын
@claudiodifazio14 yes he does, it even says it on metallicas official website.
@antoniok9914 жыл бұрын
@TheBLOODLINEmusic THX a lot !! I already have LTD deluxe SWhite and I love it. I just saw that eclipse has 22 frets and deluxe 24. I love that neck in my hand so i hope eclipse and deluxe is comparable. But like you say it tend to feel different .. now I hesitate to buy VB eclipse

guitar center's website has them, when I saw the price I figured it was for the solid state version but was shocked that it was the tube one, there was 1 for 500 bux, his new kh103 is sick, so much so he only is using them on tour now with no other amps like he use to with the diezel amps
@petesorensenguitar13 жыл бұрын
@710ble Funny thing is, like Claudiodifazio14 said, he doesn't even use this amp, so your argument isn't really applicable.

@Vulcanized15 жыл бұрын
Technically if you wanted Kirk's tone, you'd have to have this amp, add a couple million dollars worth of sound engineering, his hands (most of tone comes from hands) and his signature modified guitar.
@KevsanBamse Жыл бұрын

Do people forget they sold tons of albums before the wah pedal really got any use. No one rips on Jimmy Page, Slash, Dimebag (R.I.P. Brother), or Zakk for using the wah. THey all use it in different ways but it doesn't make them any less deserving of being a great guitarist.
@Goldfishtim16 жыл бұрын
