The 55mm suit me better but I prefer the 52mm. As a pilot I must say they look a bit slicker and they dont break the seal of noise cancelling headsets as much as the 55s.

Thank you so much for making this video. Best I can tell, this is the only one of its kind that addresses this issue. Interesting that with RayBans I wear the 61/62 mm frames. Based on your essay, I went with the “Standard” (55mm) frame and it fit perfectly. Lesson here- One sunglasses manufacturer’s millimeter measurement can not be used as the basis for another company. Last thing I’ll add- If you do want/ need the large Randolph lens, you will sacrifice most of the available lens options. Randolph only makes the 58mm size with a scant few variants. Just bought 3 pairs of 52mm and one 55mm before you launched this video. I still can't figure out which size suits most on my face. The 52mm has the most stylish obvious slant socket but 55mm is more comfortable and not looked too small. For you, definitely suit to 55mm.

I measured the 55 version that I have and it's 139 mm across at the inner frame of each arm close to the hinge, if that makes sense. From hinge screw on right to left it's 136 mm.

Your channel is really amazing! Thanks for the side-by-side comparisons here. 52mm Randolphs are more readily available at discount right now, but I'm sure they will be too small for my face. I have seen guys with large heads wear small/medium aviators, but more likely out of ignorance than by intention. It's interesting to see a bit more of an inward lense slant on the smaller frame too.

@@feriekzhou I've had a great experience buying directly from RandolphUSA.com, and the pairs I bought from eBay were also genuine, even though one had an issue with the lens. You can always tell by looking at the listing closely whether they are authentic but checking the packaging, and more importantly the markings on the frame.

On the 55mm on your face, it looks like the arms are bending slightly. This happens with my Randolph's as well. Is that normal?

If you look at the size guide on the Randolph site (where you measure temple to temple with a ruler) it's spot-on. I am 6" across which should be a 58mm but ignored it and went for the 55mm. They fit comfortably but look a bit too small. So the guide seems to be accurate (just don't ignore it like me 🤣)

I love the RE's, but I can't seem to get a good fit in any size. I think I have fairy deep set eyes, and a small bridge, so unless I have the frame shoved right up against my brow I can see quite alot of peripheral around the edges of the 55. The 58 is good as far as view coverage goes, but looks too big on my face. Haven't tried the 52, but I'd assume it'd be even worse than the 55... Any advice?

I have the 58mm, the Intruder 58mm and the Corsair 58mm. I recently picked up the squared 58mm FGN frames and had Sunglass Fix make gradient black lenses for them. I'm trying to like them but just not sure. They are gold and I prefer silver frames and I like the protruding brow bar and straight protruding bridge bar. But just not sure about them. I kind of wish these aviators had the protruding brow and bridge bar. Any way you can pick up a pair of these 58mm FGN frames and review them?

Hey man, that's the exactly what I wanted to ask. The Ray-Ban Caravan RB3136 58-15 is a bit small for my face, and I'm thinking of switching to Randolphs. Which size did you get and are you happy with it?

@@herawler3896 Hi! Yes i went for the 58mm. It is a bit large but the overall look is good. It is a bit bigger than the Caravan’s and that’s what it was all about. You will also notice that the shape is more different then you might think now. The Randolphs are btw also a lot sturdier dan the Ray Ban’s. These frames are very tough. So yes i like them a lot, also the straight springs look and feel very good.

Hi Shade Review, great video. I bought 55mm and 58mm pairs of Randolph aviators for comparison but i can't figure out which ones fit best. They both look ok, there's very little in it but the legs of the 55mm bend outwards slightly when i'm wearing them. Does this mean they are too small for my face shape? I followed Randolph's sizing guidelines on their website and if i'm measuring temple to temple correctly then I should be about a 55mm (135mm temple to temple size). There is no leg bend on the 58. Any advice? :)

usually there will be a little "leg bend" with the 55mm and thats ok as long as the pair is still comfortable. if it starts to hurt on the sides of your face after a few hours then I would say to go with the 58mm size

Speaking of "leg bend" on the Randolph aviators, for me, having a little outward flex helps them to stay on better. I tried the 52mm and they had too much outward bend, and not enough eye coverage.

I head my doubts if the Randolph Aviator would be good for Asians. but after some weeks of wearing the 55mm I can confirm that the 55mm is absolutely ok for us. it does not touch my cheeks at all while smiling or eating or making a funny faces. and this glasses are a beauty

Another top quality video, thank you so much for the size comparison. I tried 55mm and 58mm when I got my pair of RE Aviator. 55mm fit quite nicely, but I went with 58mm because I prefer larger sunglasses (I used to wear a pair of 65mm Ray-Ban 3404 for quite some time so I guess that's why )
