Great sunglasses. Got the gold ones recently. Only other glasses close to rivaling these are the vintage Bauch & Lomb Ray Ban Aviators. (Not the ones made today by Luxottica).

Hi...you can adjust the nose pads into 16mm?

I had a pair of the large (62mm) Ray Ban aviators that were stolen from my car the other day so I'm in the market for some new glasses. I'm torn between these and the Concordes. I'm kind of leaning towards these for something different, but I'm afraid about the sizing. The standard size Ray Bans (I think they're 58-14?) are much too small for my head so I'm worried about the 58mm in these. I know the bridge is wider on these though. Do you think these would be a good fit or should I just go with 61mm Concordes?
@stevearbetman4229
@stevearbetman4229 3 жыл бұрын
The 58mm is for a larger face. The bridge of 20mm makes a difference. Most people can wear either a Large and medium or Medium and small. If you feel that you usual wear a medium fit in most glasses, go with the 55mm, if not go with the 58mm. Note, if it doesn't work, just send it back for a different size. Easy swap out or returns.

Great video! Very nice glasses, i think of buying a pair. Right now I have a RayBan Caravan RB3136 58-15. And it’s width is just a bit small. So I am wondering, can you tell me the width from center hinge to center hinge of the Randolph 58mm Aviator? It would be a great help, hope you can measure it for me. Thank you in advance!

Call our store tomorrow. 717 288-7727. They can measure it for you. I prefer the intruder, it's a totally different pair of glasses. More substantial and sharp. Arby

I am confused. Cool though these Randolph may be, they are hardly functional when it comes to keeping sunlight out, especially from the sides of the frame. I've always known that pilots' sunglasses must be large enough to allow sufficient protection from oblique angled sunlight - frame styles that incorporate small lenses are not practical since they allow too much visible light and UV radiation to pass around the edges of the frame. What would a better sunglass model be, both in terms of style and functionality? I am looking for the definitive pair myself, one that's stylish yet retains its practicality and does what it's supposed to - doesn't let sunlight in unprotected, especially from the sides.

I'd like to know if gunmetal will hold up to my acidic sweat. I've got several gold and silver plated ones made back in the 90's that have corroded due to my sweat.

Do you recommend polarised or non polarised lense for nonpilots?
@flightsunglasses
@flightsunglasses 4 жыл бұрын
You can go either way. If your eyes are sensitive, you may want to go with polarized. If you are going to be looking at a lot of screens/electronics like in your car, you may want to go with Non Polarized since your car has polarized windshields. Also, in lower light conditions, non polarized is less stressful (opposite for bright light). It's a personal preference.

Hey there, Would you recommend the AGX or American Gray for driving? Can't make a decision.
@flightsunglasses
@flightsunglasses 11 ай бұрын
They are both great, but if you want more vibrant reds/oranges inside the car (Digital instruments), go with American Grey. It's more neutral on the colors. AGX enhances greens and yellows. Steve, Flight Sunglasses.

@@flightsunglasses thanks for the quick response. I have a kind of sensitive eyes and looking for the most relaxing and/or darkest lens options which would also help with migrains. I have Maui Jim glasses but a few opticians recommended to have non-polarized lenses for driving (still don't understand why non-polar would be better, anyway...), that's how I found Randolph and ended up between the American Gray and AGX.

I’d like to know that which one is better for pilots; green lenses or dark grey lenses? I’ve read something on faa website about green lenses interfere with the blue color in flight instruments. Thanks for your reply.

@@andrewchoyoung8667 does the polarized sky tech lenses block the view of nav screens or do I need the non polarized?
@andrewchoyoung8667
@andrewchoyoung8667 3 жыл бұрын
@@travisvandenberg4789 ive heard mixed reviews on this, it honestly depends on the type of display you are looking at. Ive worn polarized lenses and been able to view a G1000 fine, however had trouble seeing the standby radios. Most of the time glass cockpits have been fine with polarized glasses however I have always had issues looking through a heated windshield with polarized glasses on.

@@andrewchoyoung8667 thank you! I was wondering. Might just try out the non polarized then. I’m sure they are still great.
