I'm left totally speechless. but I'll try... Perfect! Their whole look and vibe is beautiful too. If there ever was a band that was family, before and after the multiple tragedies, it was Lynyrd Skynyrd. Collins had more tragedies than nearly anyone in history, but managed to stay positive. Everyone should know that Allen Collins wrote Free Bird , with Ronnie Van Zant. May you both rest in peace.

And can you believe?... the same High School class of 1964' produced Allen Collins- the tall lead guitarist, Gary Rossington the pretty slide guitar( ist' too, isn't he a beautiful being?), and Ronnie Van Zant front man vocals. There are so many bands of prominence whose geniuses walked out of the same neighborhood or high school. For instance- *Alice* *Cooper* (real name Vincent Damon Furnier), bassist Dennis Dunaway, and guitarist Glen Buxton were all students at the same high school. In fact Vincent and Dennis met in art class, neither of which could even play an instrument when they formed the band with classmate Glen Buxton (In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked Buxton number 90 on its list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time). *Watch* *video* *called*, ALICE COOPER 1971 STUDIO FILMING "BALLAD OF D FRY" *note* the triple pick-up *white* Gibson SG Les Paul Custom *guitar* Glen Buxton is playing in the video. It was destroyed and left for dead, but someone held onto the pieces...fast forward many years, and it ends up in the hands of Alice Cooper Founding drummer, Neil Smith (drummer in the 71' studio filming , above). Have a look at this meeting with a renowned guitar repair shop, and the results of the meeting. VIDEO> *Restoring* *Glen* *Buxton's* *Alice* *Cooper* *Gibson* *SG* *for* *Neal* *Smith*

Skynyrd Pianist Billy Powell had been a Rodie for the band prior to 1972 when he overheard lead singer Ronny Van Zant trying to figure out an intro for Free Bird. Billy jumped on a nearby piano and said here's what I'd do and played the intro that became the ethereal beginning notes for Free Bird. He was hired on right then and became the band's keyboardist for the next five years until the untimely plane crash that took Ronnie Van Zant and four others.
