3:27 Rinoa please don't give up! Your tenacity and increased quality over the years on youtube give me hope for my tiny channel. Please don't throw out those 486 MBs, I'm currently looking for a new project 486. They are getting quite hard to find at reasonable prices nowadays.

the framing and the light of the shot cleaning the sunroof...! ah! lovely. I've been wondering after your little homestead out there. I just put an order in for an ebike - you were the first person I ever saw on one and now the pieces have all come together. Beep beep! You've inspired me a lot over the last year since I found your channel - I've gone from a mouseish former fundie to wielding power tools and living in coveralls. I got my radio license, converted a van, did way more camping, exploring, tinkering, and experimenting. Thanks for being you. I'm glad you're alive. Thanks for everything Miss Rinoa.

Freakin’ UPS. I’m glad it survived. Forgot to tell you, this plotter originally comes from Europe, so it is probably set for 220V (I think I indeed saw that briefly on the back). Make sure to set it back to 110V! Good luck with your plotter, have fun learning HP-GL!

oh! good thing to point out too. but hey at least we dont have the problem europeans have, us having it switched wrong normally isnt as terrible. hehehe

Those old HP plotters are some incredible engineering. I have a 7550A plotter which was one of the fastest ones made, and honestly it makes me upset with the speed of things made today. If a plotter made 35 years ago can move so fast that it's a blur, and still move to within 1/40th of a mm, I expect better today dammit!
@grendel1960a3 жыл бұрын
we used to use those years back, they can either use felt pens of ink pens (like drawing pens), I seem to recall they are just a straight shaft with a flange a set distance from the tip, an easy make in a 3d printer. we also had its big brother the full A0 paper sized one in our drawing office, that could take up to 3 hours to do a print, so you had to make sure it had new pens before you started, this was the only way you could do colour back in the 1980's the quick alternative took just 5 minutes and was an electrostatic process for black and white, great memories.

Twice in my Life I have taken everything i owned and trashed it all, both times i lost things but in both cases on and learnt this is no right or wrong with possessions you can’t take it with you, you can only do what feels right at the time and sometimes that cathartic start was what we needed.

When it comes to shipping, if it's not packaged well enough for you to throw it at a wall, it's not going to survive... Because that's exactly what the shippers will do to it. Glad the plotter survived!

I make no promises, but I know I have some PCMCIA modems somewhere. Even used them to get online years ago! Just dial-up, but they did work. Get your hustle on, don't feel weird or whatever about hocking your goods. You gotta get paid too and the entire reason you're making them is to sell them. I get it though. I always feel weird posting about my etsy business on social media or promoting it places. Also, your bedroom is as clean as mine. That is, for many, that's a mess. But it's an organized mess.
