I bought one and have to say it was some of the best customer service I have ever gotten. Had a issue which was me not the device and they helped me through it. One thing to note if you don't buy the kit with the CM4 you will not get a SD card with there image on it. Not hard to download and make your own if you know how, just a step you will have to do after building it.

Thanks for your comment. Like others commented, it is a CyberDeck, o whatever you want.. because is highly customizable.. You will able to put any Linux and maybe other OSs in its CM4 module that is a complete RaspberryPi. On the other hand version is capable to use own mobile 4G network. In my case it will my outdoor console for some tasks with other hardware and also because it is very portable, more than my laptop. On the other hand is beautiful metal piece that you could put any emulator if you want..

Thanks for your comment. Yes! I had some Hewlett Packard calculators that I love for that, its keyboard are amazing, its bounce and feedback produce in you the capacity to write code with your eyes closed. I love this beautiful piece.

@@christopherorman5769 thanks for your comments and feedback. Well, not. Is imposible to close it.. I dedicated a lot of time but that is. Is weird. On the other hand this component is not a memory board only. This module is all, it has the CPU, GPU, and memory card, the technical name is computer module (CM), in this case is a CM4 module. I have many years working with PCs and I know what kind of memory sockets you mentioned, but I think that is different. And it is working because the main lid together with dissipation pill close it. well, thanks for your comments, and everyone's got their own taste, but I love the mechanical keyboards, for instance the old keys of the old Hewlett Packard calculators, and other very legacy but robust stuff, that I knew in these 30 years working with these kind of devices, and yes, this is another one more, and it has a very good sound and feeling for me.. The quality is good.. of course it is nor for everyone..

Thanks for your comments. It is ok, but maybe is the only thing that is bad here, because for now is imposible with the CM4 modules, to have a low power profiles. Maybe with a CM5 module that maybe will be compatible with this uConsole main board, we could have a good performance. For now try buy a good batteries. I'm using a Liitokala 18650 3400mAh batteries.

@@methamphetamememcmeth3422 well, please define "hacking tool", would be the question. For instance these uConsole is able to join with JTAG devices, pirate boards, and other special hardware stuff. Also with a simple UART, that is possible with an USB FTDI, you could able to upload some kind of firmware to some "hacking devices" that you made, for instance a lot of DIY projects that you could found in this channel. I don't know, for me the answer is yes, is a very hacking tool because the hacker word means a lot of good things. When you modify your bike you are making a "hack".

Поскольку на устройстве установлен Дебиан , следовательно у владельца устройства есть доступ к репозиториям Дебиан и он может добавить и другие репозитории (например Кали Линукс для "взлома и проникновения" ) и пользоваться соответствующим ПО по своему усмотрению. Естественно , нужно знать всё это ПО и уметь им пользоваться. ))

Линукс (тот же Дебиан - как и на видео) можно запустить и на смартфоне Андроид (Андроид , к слову, это тоже Линукс - точнее Операционная Система Убунту (её форк) , а Убунту _ это Дебиан , как и в видео) , но есть любители портативок более узкоспециализированных , с клавиатурой и монитором более подходящим для работы в терминале. На смартфоне буковки совсем маленькие и писать на экранной клавиатуре звиздец как не удобно. У данного устройства благодаря системе Дебиан подключены дебиановские репозитории , можно подключить репозитории другого дистрибутива на базе Дебиан (Кали Линукс или Кайсен - для "хакеров" и сис.админов соответственно). Можно сделать веб-сервер и запустить на нём сайт. Короче , вопросы ПО решены. А пользоваться этим устройством - через терминал , печать на клавиатуре )). Устройство для более продвинутых , скажем так. )

Some use it as a radio station (not AM/FM but something more complex), others to do some ssh and others as an emulation station (you wont'be emulating PS3/Xbox360 games of course) It's a mini computer running linux so it's up to you what you want to use it for. I ordered mine and I'm planning to use it as an ssh station and portable coding-for-fun computer

The real question is, what real uses can it be made of? What is different about a laptop with Linux? - I get the feeling that this is a pointless project, I don't see the real functionality, if it is a field computer for use outside the home, there are laptops, if you want to use it as a console, there are already more emulation consoles small and powerful - Summary, ClockworkPi uConsole is spending money for the sake of spending, it makes no sense, it is just another option among many options, it does not add anything new to the market
