Random Bivvy Wild Camping on Ivinghoe Beacon / Ridgeway Link / Wild Camping UK
A couple of weeks back now I went on a 10 mile hike to Ivinghoe beacon where I had a funny old bivvy wild camp. I wanted to get a few more open air wild camping trips in before the bugs start eating me alive. I started at the Dunstable downs and headed towards Ivinghoe on the ridgeway link and part of the icknield way route.
It was a stunning day, I had some dinner on the hill and watched the sunset before finding an odd little camp spot 😅 I slept surprisingly well considering where I pitched and then had another fantastic sunrise to watch with my morning coffee!
I hope you enjoy the video. A woodland bushcraft one should be ready to put out next week. Have a great week guys, and thanks as always for watching

Nice little hike and camp there, pretty chilled. Didnt get the sense of it being windy, so you did well to disguise it haha. Pretty perfect sunset and rise, that calmness on a morning like that makes you not want the time to keep ticking, rather to pause it. Gutted the Cambrian walk is off mate, but needs must. Be epic when you do do it🏞. Top video here mate👍🏞🤘

Just gorgeous! The colours - the feels. Nice seeing your new hills. Tilly can watch it tomorrow, she did 23.7 mile walk on Sunday “Beating the Bounds” the annual hike, really interesting origin to it too. The annual Boundary Walk is Ramsbury and Axford’s modern version of the ancient parish custom of “Beating the Bounds”. Originally based on the need for inhabitants to appreciate the lie of the land before the days of maps, Beating the Bounds was a chance for villagers usually led by the vicar to make sure they knew where the boundary lay and which parish they belonged to. Children were an important part of the event and were encouraged to beat each boundary stone with sticks to reinforce their knowledge of local geography. Not sure if there was any kind of religious involvement in this years one. But she completed it!! All of it. When asked the day after “How you feeling?” The reply was short and to the point “I’m dead!!” 😆

Great video again Ash! How do you find the CSF mat for sleeping on? I think the R-value on these are higher than they advertise as I did a little experiment with my R-value 2 CSF mat and a sea to summit R-value 3.7 in the same night and was warmer on my £20 CSF mat from lomo. It just wasn't comfy enough for a big lad like me otherwise I'd sack the Lilo's off because I use a cut down CSF mat for a sit pad for me and the doggo.
