The tumbleweeds that are brown and "tumble" are in fact already dead. So yeah it makes sense that there'd be no photosynthesis going on in em. Their need for sunlight is instead swapped for thriving in wind that they depend on for mobility.

And things like damage calc has probably been done before because ive seen it come up a few times, it's just a special equation (can find on seribii) But main problem is finding content around it thsts not just x does x damage.

Ahh, Pokedex entries. We're presented it as if it's the encyclopedia of Pokémon, when really, it's like a collection of folktales (which make its incongruities easier to swallow). Some of the folktales are based on some sort of observation, but other are like, "Hmm, it has two heads... It must be a survival trait so it can always be aware of its surroundings." Speed stat is meant to show how long it takes a pokemon to create and use an attack, not how fast they are when running or flying. This explains Veluza, Vikavolt, etc.. a great recent example imo is Varoom, who has 47 base speed and the Slow Start ability, yet is the fastest synchro machine Pokémon

There also isn't a Ground-type Gym leader in Jotho games cuz Giovanni has stepped down & Blue has taken over. On the Sunny Day thing, Bramblin's line are dead, tumbleweeds are only seed carriers and as such don't photosynthesize, Polchageist is ground macha powder meaning it can't photosynthesize, and Toedscruel is technically a fungus so it can't photosynthesize either meaning calling a Sunny Day gives no benefit (yes I know other fungus based Grass types get the move). In game reasons, Bramblin calling out the sun would prevent the 100% accuracy of Hurricane in the rain and Blizzard in the snow, two moves that its Wind Rider gives a benefit from being "hit" by, Polchageist gets Scald so they don't want to reduce its power(?) flimsy I know, and Toedscruel's Mycelium Might would give negative priority to a move that gives no advantage to it, and only amplifies its weakness. Though a slow Sunny Day into a regular Solar Beam wouldn't be a bad strategy. But hey, that's just a theory.

One of my favorite random Pokémon facts is that there are 2 unique Pokémon type combinations that are only obtainable within battle (meaning a temporary form change). These are Mega Altaria (Dragon/Fairy) and Galarian Darmanitan-Zen (Ice/Fire).

Shedinja can learn Rest, although it always only have 1 HP, yet Growlithe can't learn Growl and Grimmsnarl is unable to learn Snarl despite those moves being in these Pokemon's respective names.

This is because either the Pokemon, the moves, or both have different names in Japanese. Growl's Japanese name is "cry", which is why it's learned by an early game bird and is Cubone's only move as an abandoned baby until you train it in gen 1.

The speed stat doesn't always seem directly correlated to actually speed. Just the pokemons ability to hit first. Dugtrio doesn't have high speed because it's actually fast. It has high speed because it's a whack-a-mole so you have to wait till it pops up to hit it. So maybe dodrio actually does run slower, but it has an easier time hitting you faster because it has more heads.

Don't bring up Dodrio's Speed stat to disprove Doduo's 'dex entry cuz in case you don't know the Speed stat could actually be the reaction speed of Pkmn rather than the movement speed. Dodrio's (reaction) Speed is higher cuz it has an extra head to respond to things faster. Varoom has 47 base Speed & also Slow Start as its hidden ability, but in Synchro mode, it moves much faster than Revavroom & is 1 of the fastest in the game. So the 'dex entry you were talking about, logically speaking, could be correct. From now on if anybody asks me how many forms does Charizard have, I'll say 4 & they'd probably believe me. 7:46 My answer was initially Mewtwo, but then it turned into a new question & that is that why is Mewtwo in the Kalos 'dex? What purpose does it serve by being there?

Toedscruel uses the cover of darkness when hunting in the forest, the light from sunny day would stop it's sneaking as it's too slow to hunt by other methods also mushrooms grow better in the dark so you'd essentially be asking toedscruel to disable itself by learning and using sunny day.

The type advantage cycle of type specialists is also pretty much present in Gen 1 too, and including the Elite 4; but in reverse. And it breaks in the second entry too, kinda. Ground beats Fire. Fire is neutral on Psychic. Psychic beats Poison. Poison beats Grass. Grass resists Electric (this is the only other iffy part). Electric beats Water. Water beats Rock. Now if you imagine a second circle in the E4: Agatha beats Bruno, Bruno beats Lorelei, Lorelei beats Lance. If Lorelei is counted as an Ice Type Specialist, she beats Ground and is beaten by rock, and the abundance of Lance's flying types also make him immune to ground and beaten by Rock, making the E4 another part of the cycle either the whole way through or just the first. It makes me wonder if at any point in development Dragon was considered strong agaisnt Ghost, because it was this close to being an entire 12 character weakness (or at least advantage) chain, with, again, the only outstanding point being the second link..

The generation 2 gym weaknesses is a mirror of generation 1's gyms. Rock loses to Water, which is beaten by Electric, which is resisted by Grass, which in turn gets defeated by Poison, which gets overpowered by Psychic. Fire does nothing special in gen 1 against Psychic, breaking the chain, but then Ground stamps out Fire to start (and end) a new chain. It's most likely an amusing coincidence, but it's still funny how that works out.

In Gens 3-5, Azurill was the only Pokémon to change types completely upon evolution. Starting in In Gen 6, this has no longer been true, as the entire family line was retconned with the Fairy type. Since then, have there been any new examples of this happening? Speaking of Azurill, it has a gender ratio of 75% female and 25% male. Marill has a gender ratio of 50% female and 50% male. This means that 1/3 of all female Azurill will change gender upon evolving into Marill.

This is a thing on Showdown. (Tera Electric + Air Balloon) Wonder Guard just couldn't protect from status, hazards, weather, and then moves / abilities that negate Wonder Guard.

You can get around statuses if you have another Pokemon use Shed Tail. It is still at mercy to Sand

The gen 3 starters ruin the starting movie pattern. Each one has a different move but the grass starter has pound and the water starter has tackle. It’s also possible Whitney was supposed to be the dark leader to keep the pattern going since dark wasn’t represented by any gym leader either. And do we need a normal gym? But they decided to save dark for the elite 4 instead. Miltank may have even been a dark type since it’s basically the devil.

Actually would have been quite fitting for Miltank, given how often cows and other cattle are associated with things like Satanism and Demonology. Maybe it could get a regional form? Dark is the most common type for that already, and a Dark/Rock type Demon Miltank would be such a meme. Especially if they add it to a Let's Go Remake of Johto. You brought a bunch of Bug type to fight Whitney, knowing that they switched the gym to be dark type, only for Whitney to still have a rollout spamming Miltank _with STAB_ just to punish you for not using Kanto Pokémon just like she did in the original.
