The thing that keeps me coming back to your channel is your PERSONALITY! For that reason lip swatch videos aren't my fave, but only cos there isn't much chatting and hanging out with you. Maybe if you did like a chatty lip swatch where you just talked us through the colours as you tried them on (rather than just showing swatches of one colour after the other?) Just paused the video to say that one of the reasons I love your videos is because you have remained yourself the whole time. You don't try to do what everyone else is doing and I love that. I love the "old-school" videos and videos where you ramble so please don't apologize for them and definitely don't stop making them.

Please don't change your style Kathleen! It's just like you said, you don't have to be a clone. I truly look forward your videos THE MOST because you keep it real, you don't use studio-like backdrop and make us watch using a clickbait titles. You give us real life advice and I think many other beauty gurus have slowly been drifting a way from that. And still, through all these changes in KZbin, you're literally my number 1 favorite beauty guru. Personally, I think this change towards shock and clickbait is not permanent, this is just a phase and soon people are either changing their style back to the "old" days or finding something new. But the shock factor is not there forever, in some point there's no shock for anything anymore because we've already seen it all. People are already getting tired to be "fooled" to watch videos. And then the channels who rely on that are screwed. If you still feel like you have to update something on your channel, I would maybe do that by changing the background a little bit or just the video style. For example trying out more blurry background or something like that. You mentioned going to a course to learn stuff about cameras and editing and I think that would truly be a great idea!! You can make such a big difference by only changing that kinda stuff a little bit. But when it comes to your content, I truly hope you don't feel the need to change because there will always be people who like this style more and are fed up with the new styles that are drifting from the reality and not actually giving us any helpful advice. (Wow this was supposed to be way shorter 😅😂 But I love you Kathleen!! xo)

Nonono do not change please Kathleen. Your channel is my favourite KZbin channel because of how genuine and un-clickbatey your videos are. You described it perfectly by saying everyone is just a clone of each other, trying to copy each others videos to get views and to stay relevant, and I really don't like that. I love your videos, not just because you have stayed true to the old school beauty videos but also because I love your personality, and it hasn't changed as the trends have changed. No, please don't "get with the times". You are one of the few beauty gurus I can tolerate now. Everyone is starting to look and talk the same and it's really annoying but you're someone who I feel hasn't succumbed to that. You still seem like yourself and your videos don't feel like a commercial and I really really appreciate that. I know you said you feel like videos that aren't click bait/extreme "struggle" but just because a video isn't getting 500,000+ views doesn't mean it's doing poorly. Same. I've stopped watching or unsubscribed from many of the beauty channels, but I always watch you, Kathleen. But, if there are videos you want to try out, I say go for it and see how the response is. Personally, I hate story time videos because they seem to all be fake, OMG!SUCH SCARY videos because again, fake and often used by lazy people without any good ideas--just this one girl's opinion so....but I still love the classic KZbin beauty style videos. I want to know which products are good, ya know? I'm someone who is always looking for healthier things for my face and body that actually work, so I'd love to see videos like that, maybe? You've built a lot of trust with me over the years and I still trust your opinion and there not many I can say that about left these days. I like the funny tag videos still, or swatch videos of products in a lines' range (like the lipstick one you mentioned) and I'm always game for tutorials! Have a good day, girl. I wanted to give you a hug when you were talking about changes and flying and such. I'm the same about changes and flying too, and I've been forced to change my life recently because of cancer, and it's so hard to switch lanes but breathing exercises for real work. When my mind is going totally crazy at night with what ifs, I breathe in and out real calmly and count backwards from 200, and it helps shut my mind down so I can get some rest. Oh man. I recently found you here on KZbin when I was looking for videos to watch while I'm feeding my rescue stray cat. She's very sick and has to be fed through a feeding tube so I'm stuck in the bathroom for about twenty minutes feeding her with nothing to do. Kathleen, my sister and I have been watching you for years now and just absolutely love how you're "oldschool" and so real with everyone. We both know from experience how anxiety can affect a person. I want to share with you a few things that may help your anxiety. My mom struggled with bad anxiety and anxiety attacks for 8 years straight. Most nights she wouldn't sleep because she was afraid that she, my dad, my sister, or I would stop breathing and suddenly die in our sleep. This is how bad it was for all those years. She would go to work and occasionally have to excuse herself from a meeting to go to the bathroom where she would cry and almost hyperventilate while saying, "God please just get me through the day. I have a great job, a loving husband, a beautiful home, and healthy children; why do I feel this way"? We all went to church together as a family every Sunday morning and one particular Sunday the Pastor ended the service asking if anyone struggling with anxiety would come up for prayer. That day my mom said in her mind that she wasn't going to accept the anxiety anymore and that she needed to give it to God because she couldn't get rid of it on her own. She then RAN (yes ran) to the stage for prayer and before the Pastor had even gotten to her for prayer she was crying and in her mind begging God to take the anxiety and fear from her. At this point she saw in her mind her heart and it had the word "FEAR" written across it and a hand with an eraser that came and erased those words slowly from her heart. From that point on she hasn't had an anxiety attack. She kept declaring that she wasn't going to claim that fear or anxiety anymore. My mom has been free for about 10 years. It may be unconventional or old school, but I believe God gives us testimonies to help other people overcome the difficulties that come with life. I just wanted to encourage you that God wants to heal you from your anxiety and He wants to have a relationship with you. Philippians 4:6 says, "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praise shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." I'm not an expert in anxiety, but what I know to be true is that God works. I just think..why not try it? I just started watching youtube beauty videos last month. you are pretty much the only one I watch because you are so real. You dont always make your makeup super dramatic, you make it look real, every day and occasionally the wild colors I love. I do my makeup more natural, and I love that your makeup looks smooth and applied to look natural and not so flashy and dark. - Tbh, clickbait videos may get clicked on the most, but I bet if you looked at the stats, most of those views only last about 30 seconds before the viewer gets bored and clicks off. The original style of youtube videos with the makeup collections, the swatches, the favourites etc will always be my favourite because they're the reason I started watching youtube, they're what got me into makeup in the first place, and they're not only enjoyable but also helpful. You enjoy making them, sooo many more people enjoy watching them than you think, and if you change your style of video to ''fit in'' then you're not being true to yourself and yeah you might get a few more views but do the numbers really count if those views aren't from people who genuinely want to watch you? Keep doing what you're doing, because a lot more people love it than you think x
