You know, a while ago I chose to watch the first season and a half of 2003 show (didn’t love it) and I actually thought to myself “The fact that they’re mutant turtles has no bearing on story whatsoever,” and I dunno something about the tone of it made me think they might as well just be human ninjas. I liked how Mutant Mayhem made the fact that they’re green monsters very important because they were afraid the world would reject them for it.
