🇯🇵🇺🇸Dear Japanese bros & sisters, I would appreciate any information more than you can imagine. I’m hafu born in Musashino Red Cross army hospital 1951. My mother’s maiden name was Fukuoka. Her grandfather was a Kendo master. He taught the military and was awarded by his prefecture. At one time a town/city was named for our family. Do you have any idea how I could find out what the award was and where the place that was named for us? His name was Grozimon (I spelled how it sounds) Fukuoka. My mother was 20 years older than myself. She would be 92. So around 100 years ago he would have received the award. We are also looking for our family crest. Any help from you would be greatly appreciated. My mother did translations for Toyo Chemical Company and Japan Brunswick when she was alive. I visited with the president of the first company and spent time with the retired (vice?) president of the second company. I loved Japan. We mostly stayed in Kokubunji as that was where we lived before moving to Michigan, USA.
Surprised he didn't say very beautiful like Emma Watson 😂

Get well soon brother... When I went to Japan back in 2019 for some office work... I did get the chance to taste it. The taste was kinda similar to our very own bengali sweets like "kheerer chop".

I think in the UK we call that cinder toffee it isn't as bubbly as that because we usually make it in a pan and break it up and sell them in bags at bakeries, it's more popular in Scotland then England though

The further north in England you go, the more cinder toffee you see in the shops. I don’t think I’ve seen it outside of a dedicated confectioners since I moved south from Yorkshire.

I get the idea it’s a bit like what we call honeycomb candy, which is made from caramelized sugar with baking soda whipped into it. 🤔 I can’t wait to visit Japan just to try all the candy!!
@iamsherlocked875 Жыл бұрын
Yes, that exactly what it is. Korean version is not whipped so much hence very thin.

What is it with this guy and Emma Watson? 😆 Really cool foods to see from Japan. Many of the younger generation are ubsest with Japanese, Korean and Tai foods and candy's. Candys are just hard to find here in the US from Japan.
