Excellent video, using quads and quints to help find naked pairs was brilliant. The rehash and look at UR type 6 and 7 was very helpful too. Thanks for producing. I know we are all working to get the word out on these videos.

I was on holidays so I have one week delay with watching this episode. Maby it was a little later but was worth watching! It is a big job with Complete Course and of course I'm waiting for every part you can make and put on youtube.

Naked Quads & Naked Quints will help you find Hidden Triples and Hidden Pairs. And likewise, Naked Pairs and Naked Triples will help you find Hidden Quads and Hidden Quints. And paying attention to the number of unfilled Cells left in a particular House, will guide you as to what to look for. The idea behind mentioning the UR's here, is to help you recognize the special cases for Type 6 & Type 7 where there are only 4 Cells highlighted (in the whole puzzle) on a particular Candidate, that form the UR, and knowing how to quickly handle them. It will help you save time.

Thanks for the video. I know of another technique regarding hidden pairs, which I have found to be easy to use. Looking at your first example, I would first see that row one has a pair of 3s. I would then compare those two boxes to see what they have in common. I see that they both have a 1. Then I look elsewhere on the row, and I see another 1. I know then that a 1 cannot be part of a hidden pair. Then I would see that they both have a 5. When I see that there are no other 5s in that row, I know then that the hidden pair is a 3 and a 5. Basically, I see what the two boxes have in common besides the known pair. If they have a digit in common, I look to see if the digit appears elsewhere. If not, I have identified the hidden pair. I hope this will be helpful.

Yeah, that's great. You are essentially doing the same thing that I demonstrated. The only difference , is that my method requires the use of filters, whereas your method is applied without filters. Whatever works! Good luck. :-))

Thanks very much for this extremely helpful video as I personally struggle a lot with finding hidden subsets. I also frequently miss type (6/)7 rectangles too so will keep an eye out if I see a dead xwing like pattern on a candidate.
