yes exactly, and i'm happy that the hermits have formed a huge community on twitter because i was there from around the beginning and there weren't many of us, but now that i deleted twitter it seems that hermittwt had grown a lot and all the people in hermitcraft deseve the support and love and the only issue for me is that there are some weirdos but there arent that much to be honest.

This debate has happened a few years ago on Tumblr, things got really ugly, but one hermit (I think it was Cleo), established that if you were going to make shipping content, keep it away from the other hermits. As in, don't tag the hermits that you're shipping, or mention it in the comments or stream chats

Im guessing the reason that hermittwt is dying with the shipping and stuff is because (according to what i remember hearing when i was still using twt) is that there is a lot of dsmp people coming over and they were always on everyone's tail when it came to romantic shipping (which when it came about the minors i agree on it shouldn't be a thing) i think its mainly an issue of not knowing the hermits boundaries

@@truckerdave8465 I totally agree that shipping, especially with real people, has always felt really weird to me and something I'd prefer didn't happen, but I'm just going to point out that that's not what all fanfics are about - I wouldn't generalise it to all fanfics as you have. The ones where fans just rewrite stuff like Third Life to add more plot & epic-ness to events, or even just use the hermits' personas/characters to tell unique fantasy/action adventure/etc stories with no romance involved, do no harm imo. There's a few of those types out there I've read and absolutely loved, that could almost hold up as just stories in their own right if they weren't using the names, faces, and basic events from Hermitcraft/the Life Series.

In case you dont know, a queerplatonic relationship (QPR for short) is a sort of relationship (mostly by aro people but not necessarily) that is outside the bounds of what people consider platonic relationships, but which isn't romantic. Like, two people who deeply care for each other and decide to raise a child together despite not experiencing attraction to each other is an example of it. And that can be a form of shipping too!

They don't want to see it, and avoid certain areas or platforms where they will generally see it. However, they are rational adults, who know that if they do see it, they can just move on. They will not stop shippers, because it doesn't hurt anyone. This has been established since 2019, when a bunch of people shipping hermits on tumblr were attacked and harassed, and so ZombieCleo stepped in. This resulted in Cleo getting tons of hate as well. Thought that context might help
