The animation from studio mir is great they did do Korra and X-men 97 after all lol. The voice acting wit Ichigo /nero is fine plus on Twitter aka X Reuben doesn’t really care himself he said it’s all in the family . He’s looking forward to see Johnny do a younger dante for this show . The show itself it seems adi is taking from all sorts of stuff from DMC 4 from one from 3 I think even the reboot lol. Making an amalgamation I forgot stuff from the manga as well . Hope Vergil is in this show at least have the original actor for Vergil dude lol

Like people have mentioned, it’s probably because of Langdon’s age. But I’d take it a step further and say they’re likely planning sequels where we’ll see Nero and Dante voiced by their VAs again. Not only would this make Dante’s aging more obvious, but we should also remember that when DMC4 was announced, there was a lot of mystery around how Nero was connected to Dante. So having Nero sound just like a younger Dante could fuel a lot of speculation for newcomers to the series.

I think they choose nero because lagndon has just gotten older like u can hear it in devil may cry 5 he's not that same shit talking Dante like he was in 3 or 4 but wiser and older nero in 5 felt like Dante from 3 constantly shit talking and kicking ass while doing it.

I have low expectations for this. For one, I hate the Netflix adaptations all having the exact same anime art style. Of all the things you can do in anime, having a consistent art style across multiple projects is obscenely boring. The whole point of the format encourages creative expression through art style. What's the point if all the art looks exactly the same? Just look at the original anime. My God it's gorgeous and stands out as distinct and unique. And after the way Adi or whatever his name is royally screwed up Castlevania, I am far more skeptical of any future projects. DMC is my ultimate favorite series ever. My standards are high.

This style of animation is totally different from the other adaptations. Its a completely different studio. Not to mention Adi didn't have complete creative oversight of Castlevania. This time around he will.

Devil May Cry is sacred to me and so far, the original anime is the standard. That show was amazing. And I actually don't care about Johnny Bak voicing Dante. As long as he gets the character's personality down. I have no issue letting other actors take on the role. I love Rueben but if I were being honest, I much prefer the original voice actor from the first DMC game.

Personally, his amulet is fine. It could have a metal casing on the back, that conformed to the jewel, or it could be bare backed, i dont care. As long as Dante isnt answering the door, fully naked, saying "fuck, and or "shit" every other sentence, im fine. Vergil better not be a discord mod who may or may not be into "sensitive info".

I honestly don't like that Johnny/Nero is doing Dante's voice. First off hes just using his regular Nero voice and not even creating a new voice for Dante. That is going to be jarring to me and will just look like Nero is doing an impression of Dante. I'd honestly rather have a new Voice actor try Dante. I'm rather sad that Reuben gave up acting; to me he cemented the role of Dante.

Afaik, Rebellion has 2 sides. Demon and Human side (that is kinda important, since the sword is a seal/key of sorts, its not just a weapon). There are no horns on Human side's scull. In anime it has horns on both sides. I don't think they cared about lore/timelines that much...just slapped some stuff together.

Dante himself is supposed to be witty and lighter hearted than the rest of the cast, and in DMC, a lot of the setting is less dark and gritty and more just dark.
