When you read the IDW transformers comics run from start to Finish in a chronological order, you realized that Megatron was the main character of the series.

I honestly cannot blame Megatron for going down the path of war. Especially when the corrupt Senate of Cybertron are to blame for putting him on that path in the first place. Megatron initially wanted to make changes to Cybertron’s society through non-violent means, which ultimately would’ve stripped the corrupt Senate of their power. Seeing that Megatron was gonna be a threat to their reign, the Senate ordered an Autobot that worked directly for them, Whirl, to kill him after he was arrested and in police custody (Megatron actually didn’t do anything, a friend of his brutalized two military cadets and he was arrested just for being associated with him). While beating his helpless prisoner, Whirl told Megatron that it didn’t matter if he died and that nobody cared about him. Whirl was caught in the act and restrained before he could finish Megatron off, as he was being set free due to an eyewitness testimony saying he was not involved in the beating his friend gave to those cadets. While Megatron wasn’t killed, the psychological damage had been done. As his sense of injustice and powerlessness made him realize that a more forceful approach was required in order to change society. So yeah, Megatron was a good person. But unfortunately the corrupt society he sought to change ended up changing him for the worst when they tried to silence him. The Senate ultimately created the instrument of their destruction.

Excellent. And nice Soundwave. Before this, in flashback, while at a bar with Impactor, a fight broke out and Megatron was arrested. While in custody he was beaten by Whirl and a few goons. It took only ONE BAD DAY to turn a pacifist into a warlord.

Actually, there were at least TWO bad days: the mine closure day + the Whirl beat-down day. We don't know how many days Megs spent considering non-violent protest, nor how many days he was in jail before he was released to go to that bar. He may have had some more bad days in jail.

I agree. I also think that Megatron (much like the Joker in Batman), is too aware of his actions to be insane in the sense of being mentally ill. Both Megatron and Joker are fully aware of the enormous chaos, destruction and damage that they cause, as well as the massively heinous nature of these acts. The difference between Optimus Prime and Megatron (and Batman and Joker actually) is very simple, and makes for a good comparison. Optimus Prime believes in freedom from oppression, and is willing to sacrifice *himself* for it. Megatron believes in freedom from oppression, and is willing to sacrifice *anyone* for it.

Personally i like this one better than the movie origin. It also makes more sense why alot of cybertronians decided to join megatron and his decepticons. We have seen it in many a revolution over time. When the upper class is eclipsed by the lower class, but the upper class holds all the power and extorts the lower class. Its is only only a matter of time before someone says ENOUGH! NO MORE!! and starts a revolution. That being said one thing you have to ask is what would Megatron have done if he had won the war, would he actually have been able to actually rebuild a better Cybertron or would his rule have been just as bad as the one he overthrew?

This was better than anything Michael Bay has put out as his "transformers"wannabe movies! Even with its limited budget it was leagues better more entertaining and had the original Source material respected overall! Whoever made this great job! If anything I would put chapters on them so we the audience can watch them in the chronological order that is intended and enjoy the ride!
