Everyday I would drive off of 18 at Skylinks. Exhausted, frustrated, head spinning with a million different golf related things and there was Dana. Standing there in his spot...looking as cool, calm and collected as he does in this video. It would take me 10 years to figure out that is the mental attitude you need to play this game well. Thanks Dana. It's good to see you at El D. Hope you are enjoying it there.

I'm not going to lie. tried the little rock back and forward on my irons with trackman and legitimately added 3m carry to my 7 iron... i've never had that improvement from an youtube swing tip before! probably not for everyone but made a solid difference to me!

It is just me or is there just something majestic about Erik's swing? Like it is so satisfying to watch lol

Dude your swing has come a long way since the first season of adventures in golf, not that it needed much improvement. Keep at it!

I suffered from the c pivot myself. It was causeing me to hit fat shots and hurt my wrist. Worked with a coach to correct it and picked up alot of distance between hiting the ball better and learning to properly shift weight around. Love these in depth coach videos. Keep em coming

Nice start to the series. I find that when I try to "bump" back to the right like Dana is demonstrating at the end I end up thinning and chunking at a lot higher percentage than if I really try and stay centered. It seems like we're adding a lot of back and forth by trying to make that much of a shift. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, or overdoing that move? Thoughts on this?
@RandomGolfClubFilms4 жыл бұрын
Try small, micro-adjustments first. It could be that you're overdoing the move. Keep us posted though!
@kingpoopa70474 жыл бұрын
I understood it as only a small amount of lateral direction back, then transitioning into a big twist to really gain momentum with as little as possible back and forth motion. I could be wrong though, and it sounds hard!
@ConnorFotsch4 жыл бұрын
had the same thought. I watched a Rick Shiels about eliminating sway. This seems to promote it. I think there are a thousand ways to approach/coach a golf swing is what it comes down too.
@bwestby14 жыл бұрын
Make sure you aren’t moving your head around. If it’s not moving then it’s probably just too much movement.
@brianstecklermusic4 жыл бұрын
Paradiddle44 Yeah, I was playing around with it a little, and I think that’s the key... it’s not much of a move. The rotation is the real point. But, initially I feel like it puts me close to a reverse C, but again, it’s probably just the initial feeling.

its like throwing a baseball. push off with your back leg to your front leg, open your hips, keep your hands back then fire through.

Maybe I'm just not following the instruction, but I'm really confused what Dana's talking about in regards to Kim's swing. He keeps mentioning that in her swing her pelvis is deficient, and then goes on to say she needs to rotate her pelvis more, but as far as I can tell it's really rotated. Could someone else who understands this a bit better explain this to me?
@williamssong98174 жыл бұрын
So from my understanding it's not really about not enough rotation around the hips/pelvis, but rather that Kim isn't bumping her weight back onto her trail leg enough. Based on the footage, when Kim has completed her backswing, her weight is probably a bit too evenly distributed between her lead and trail legs (this is what Dana means by "reverse pivot"). Thus, when she rotates through on the downswing she's gonna end up way ahead of the ball when she gets to a proper impact position. If you think about the golf swing as the club head traveling in an "arc" or circle around the body, she is shifting the circle forward by not bumping her weight onto her trail leg. You can read a bit more about it here: golfweek.usatoday.com/2004/05/15/reverse-pivot-golfs-version-poison/
@bwestby14 жыл бұрын
It’s not really rotating it’s just shifting back. The center of her pelvis is moving too far off the ball. He mentions that in the video.
