Future goths might react to this type of tv content in the same way current goths react to the 80s content lol

Let’s hope that Goth exist in the future as the rate it’s going a lot of young people don’t think that you have to be into the music to be into the subculture which is quite disturbing.

The only time a person that I recognise was on Ireland AM, and his name is BP Fallon. He was great friends with Shane MacGowan ad Sinead O'Connor. He was invited to Ireland AM in what was a rare television appearance to pay tribute to Shane and Sinead, he was previously on The Late Late Show with Gay Byrne in the 1980s and 1990s. BP Fallon is a also a broadcaster for RTE.

You both did well, and more importantly you both Looked Fabulous!!! You did a Fantastic job in upholding the community and didn't try to place regions or things like Emo into a little box just outside our existence. I think you always do the Goth Community a good service with how you are portrayed and how you conduct yourselves out in the World, and we support you and others in our realm of influence!! I guess I'm just getting lazy in my old and broken state, looking more like a Pirate than a Goth, I mean I rarely wear makeup anymore (unless for a big party), my good two outfits spend more time in the closet now and me clothed in band t-shirts and a pair of jeans or even sweat pants. The one thing that has never gone away is the music, that core of our being that defines us!! I hope you both have a Scary Xmas, I've had my Gothmas Tree up since the week before Halloween! I wonder if Conor and Lynn will be able to spend some time with Santa again this season!?

I’m glad you got to do this, and spread awareness of what being Goth/Gothic really is. It’s great to hear that they treated you kindly and seemed open minded about what you were saying. I wish this could happen on networks here in America. We have sooo many people with the wrong idea about Goth/Gothic. I just found out that my ex brother-in-law and his whole family; possibly church too, are praying against me being Gothic. I was very upset, but shouldn’t have been surprised since every time they talk to my son, they ask him if I’m still wearing black. No wonder I’ve been struggling with self identity and if I should stay Gothic with all those negative prayers floating around against me. No offense please as I know you are Christian. I used to be, but with all the negative treatment I got for years, and still get, I just can’t be that anymore. I hope you understand where I’m coming from. Take care and see you soon 💜🦇

Honestly, I'm an autistic European goth, but I watched a video of that interview; it went decent, and you guys frankly did an amazing job of explaining that goth is a music-based subculture and that the fashion is more of a badge of honor. I was just so deeply relieved that the hosts actually showed interest; I was lowkey expecting the same kind of mainstream cringe that you'd see in old footage from 90's talk shows. So glad they didn't go down that route; lord knows that goth and mainstream media did NOT gel well in the past on that one. I'm just glad they tried clearing up misconceptions instead of trying to confirm them. And when it comes to the makeover... You guys actually did a great job for like 15 minutes! I was just like 'It's just for a gag, but is that one of Connor's old jackets or something?' Like, I originally got into the fashion and the music only came a year later in my case, but gothic fashion is still a big interest of mine nonetheless 18 years (and counting, lol!) later. Like, I'm usually giving baby bats style advice and helping them find their personal aesthetic within gothic fashion if they generally ask for help on social media, lol. So I was surprised that this looked sort of gothic; never knew that you guys ACTUALLY made him over. That explains so much! I had a good chuckle at there being no makeup beyond his beard, though; I felt like it only added to how funny that little gag was, so I don't know what people are bellyaching about. got a laugh out of me for sure.

For me as an older person who still goes to goth clubs I always find it interesting how other people perceive the label "goth". Wasn't something we were bothered about in the late 80s/90s. It was more important that anyone, be they LGBTQ, introverted or simply a weirdo could have somewhere to go out and relax in a club which they could feel safe in. It was socially based (normally in a club), not individual based as I feel the goth label is now on the internet. I personally would have liked to see you push the idea of acceptance in the segment rather than only LGB. Saying that I think you did well, especially in the short time you had and no actual knowledge of the questions beforehand. I also think the presenters did a good jobs of seeming interested rather than having their own mocking agenda.
