I don't normally pay much attention to background music, but this stopped me cold! Took me forever to get the name of the song and the artist because my TV was yanking my chain. Played it for my husband today and we are now huge fans. Marvelous lyrics, amazing voice, this guy has got it all. Thanks!

An emotional and thought provoking song. Wish my father would understand. Losing mam in April, then being blamed by my father for her passing. The words mean so much to me. Cross roads in front of me. Not knowing which way to go. Listening to this track helps. Beautiful. Thank you.

⚓ I was an Inshore & Deepsea Fisherwoman way downunder here in New Zealand. This song struck a heavy chord in my heart for the Fisherman brothers I'v lost over the years, even very almost losing my own life in a Cyclone that would have rolled our boat over one more degree!! My heart also goes out to the families of those lost in that ever merciless Bering Sea. Stay safe out there you Crazy Crabbers! 🦀 - Fair Winds & Calm Seas ⚓🇳🇿

This is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. The words are great but it is not so much the words but the singer and how much emotion he shares with the listener. I can't help myself to keep hitting that refresh button to hear Randy over and over. The emotion he feels in this song, I would like to experience.

Winged Monkey thanks for that. My dad and I started hiking the AT when I was six and I hated it. He always talked about us doing a thru hike from Springer Mountain to Mount Katahdin but we just never seemed to find the time. He passed away 5 years ago. What began as hikes of resentment have turned into the most meaningful memories a son could have of his father. I miss you dad.😢

I found your music about 20 years ago (or so it seems) on Garage Band or something like that. I forget now what it was called. Anyways i used to like sifting through all the unknown artists finding songs i liked. I found 3 of them by you. Goodbye Rene, Salutations, and You will shine. Great songs man really good. I used to play them all the time in my car. I don't know how you never made it big that's a mystery to me. I'm guessing your songs didn't get enough exposure because if people could hear them they would love those songs too. They'd be hits on the radio. Those 3 songs are top 40 material. I don't know what you're doing now but good luck with whatever it is. Hopefully you're still playing music somewhere.

Open up cut the chord, don't ignore the place you came from. When you fall you will have wings, you will remember what your made of. It is your right to ignite a thousand brilliant dreams. So know your name and know it well, give them something to believe in. And should the sun turn black and fade away. And should we choose another path and seperate yeah. We lead the way I will not forget the pact we made. Its 3 a.m. I been drinking think i got the Minnesota blues. Take this cup before me, lets get drunk from the light of the sunken moon oh So look up do you see a remedy and she's cryin out Well alright stop the train turn around and let me kiss your sweet sweet mouth. And should the ocean turn black or wash away. Should this love start to drag and make your heart break Be the way I will not forget the pact we made. I think this time I could be over my head. But I'm half my dad whose Indian blood runs through my skin. So fly eagle fly come on an let it shine cuz I gotta feeling oh I'm on my waaaaay La la la la Let the sun just let the sun fade away Let the ocean let wash away I will not forget the pact we made I said I will not forget the plans we made No I will not forget the pact we made we made we made we made. And I will not forget the pact we made And I will not forget the pact we made And I will not forget the pact we made And i will not let this moment go to waste
