This guy is great. All those critics ate just so jealous and probably never picked up a guitar and if they did couldn't do shit with it. Keep rocking Randy!

Look him up at wikipedia. And he has a website, if you google his name. (I tried to post it here but youtube nixed that) I seen him when he was a young man playing a Hendrix tribute in a small bar in Salt Lake City, Utah, circa 1980. He was awesome then, and now I see he just gets better with age. I am so delighted to accidentally find videos of him here on youtube.

Saw him live this week here in Sydney. Awesome musician and performer. His playing was far far better than in this video. Faultless in fact and does the Hendrix music justice. Also played Prince's Purple rain and was superb also with that.

@pietroaligischiavi695110 жыл бұрын
I do the same, left handed guitar, Hendrix visual!!!!!
@RochestersEarl9 жыл бұрын
Neto Rib Nope. There're a lot of things going on besides the "just to look like Hendrix" appearance. You got different string tension, different bridge pickup tone and also a different fell and vibe from the guitar since you got the controls right on the top.
@pietroaligischiavi69519 жыл бұрын
yes, different string tension, the low E is stronge and sounds lower, and the high E is more hight,...I got the same guitar.

We all hear so many people try to do Jimi, mostly -- sorry to say not that good. Randy is one that I have heard which is actually quite good. The guy playing the bass almost sounds like he is trying to do the leads -- which is pretty cool -- Ofu I think is his name, German dude I think is part of Randy's European crew back when this was recorded. The drums are no Mitch or with a touch of Moon, way too mechanical, but he does come in at the right times but mostly without any passion. Randy is trying to do the randomness and and never repeat the same version twice that was a hall mark of Jimi -- I think this version is all and all pretty darn good. Check out some the stuff Randy did with Ofu and Buddy Miles you can find on KZbin in his earlier days -- that stuff is really good.

@guitarpicker81608 жыл бұрын
+Ed Halfen But Ed, Jimi WAS sloppy at times, but those rare mistakes were more than compensated for by the sheer reckless abandon of his performances. If your preference is technically clean, melodic blues with a jazzy feel, then Robben Ford or Warren Haynes might be more to your taste.
@stratman4578 жыл бұрын
+Ed Halfen this guy is so fucking good he has Jimi's spirit in him w/o question. Lets see U do better....where's UR vids? Just stop...this guy is unbelievable talent!
@pigsrock938 жыл бұрын
+Guitar Picker he was talking about how Jimi played sloppy and he make more mistakes than you can imagine on his songs. Jimi always says sorry for his mistakes and sloppiness, even though it doesn't sound sloppy, he was very sloppy. If you want to get the Hendrix sound, you have to play sloppy and make very similar mistakes as him. I do that and I am never changing my playing style since it sounds so much like Jimi's style of playing.
