I love this song. Huge fan of Josh Turner. Even huger fan of Randy Travis. Been a Randy Travis fan since I was 5 yo. They both have such amazing voices and talent. Thank for doing this song. They got a few others of their songs they have done together. All of them are great.

King of the Road is a classic. I grew up hearing this song. Roger Miller is the version I remember. Great song!! These two made a great duet. Love their rendition of Long Black Train Also Miranda Lambert and friends including Anderson East closed her concerts with this for about a year. I'm sure it's recorded out there somewhere.

Great pick. Heard this song since childhood. It’s a song so many singers know, great to get the audience to sing along to. Don’t know why Miller used “ bit” for currency, when he also uses “ cents”. Have a wonderful weekend, all.

Josh Turner has a killer voice. He can hit the low notes, but he can reach much higher notes than most bass singers.

That song was written by the great Roger Miller who also penned dang me my favorite of his songs was that’s what happens when two worlds collide that he did with Dottie west. I had not heard this performance of it thank you so much both Randy Travis and Josh turner are awesome artists and you were right this was a excellent version though I’ve heard many through the yearsI can’t think of one that would top it I agree with your writings thank you

This clip was part of a ~45 min video of Randy and Josh singing each other's songs and of course this gem. I'd like to see reactions to the other songs they play like Three Wooden Crosses and Your Man and Long Black Train. Thanks for the videos.

9.7 for a cover? Roger Miller wrote this song you have to hear his version , a very talented man with a unique style

@Frank Novack It's just a great song, and maybe I would have given Roger's a higher score, maybe not. Some covers are really well done, and this to me was one of them. Christ Stapleton's cover of "Tennessee Whiskey" or Miranda Lambert's cover of "Miss Ohio" spring to mind. The Allman Brothers rendition of "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" is also an amazing cover. I suppose it's the way a song hits me in a given moment, and I don't add or deduct points in my mind for an original or a cover. If it hits me a certain way while listening to it, I just go with that sense.

@@lonniekramlich6241 There are so many great original songs and artist that have been covered by many equally great artist. It is impossible to quantify who's ear hears it best. I enjoy each rendition without prejudice. If not for covers, some of these older songs would be filed away and forgotten regardless of their continued relevance. ✌

@@Teresia12 Teresia, theres nothing wrong with a cover, how do you judge a cover, if you have never heard the original. Can you imagine someone covering, " Can't you see " better than, MTB did ? King Of The Road by Rodger made it ok & cool for a whole generation too listen to country music! Just saying.

Is a 9.7 the highest score you've given on the channel? I can't remember a higher one, but I've also probably only seen about half of your videos.
@RockN2Country
@RockN2Country 5 жыл бұрын
@TheNascarfan999 I may have given Red Sovine's song "Teddy Bear" a 9.8, but it may have been a 9.7. Something tells me that I gave another song a rating that high, possibly Alison Krauss. I'll do a video one of these days on all of the songs I gave a rating of 9 or higher, and that's when I'll do the research to finally know what I've done. I think I've given 10 songs a rating of 9.5 or higher, but I won't know until I get there. Miranda Lambert's "Love Your Memory" was up there, I remember that

I do wish that you would hold your comments until the song is over. Kind of like talking over someone. Just my opinion.
@RockN2Country
@RockN2Country 2 жыл бұрын
@Jeff Tappan A few things about that. The first is that reactors have to modify the original video or song in oder to be copyright protected, otherwise we have a greater incidence of being blocked. The second is that there is no way to remember all the thoughts that spring to mind during a song and unpack them five minutes later. I've tried your suggestion in the past and got a lot of comments wondering why I wasn't commenting on the song, so it's a balancing act. In my first year of the channel I used to talk a lot, and I got a lot of feedback on that (understandably). But since it's a reaction video that's what people tune in for, so I try to strike a balance.
