You will see copies of my first NBME Exam where I literally stopped because I realized I was not even in the same league as the exam at that stage. The message is 'take a step back' and ATTACK in a different direction.

My first NBME was 230. Didn’t let it discourage and I didn’t let it get to me. Assessment scores are important but trusting yourself and the effort you’ve put into preparing for this exam matters more. Tomorrow is my exam and I spent the entire day watching your videos Dr.Neil. I couldn’t feel more confident than I do now. I’ll update you tomorrow on how things went. 😅

Hi doc, seeing this video. I’ve been struggling a lot this last month. I work full time and is been really hard for me to be constant with the studying and to keep up my energy and motivation to keep up studying for step 1. I know i can do it but when I can’t study constantly, the results i get are not what i expect and i just feel frustrated. 😓

@@Theroadofgreatness Genesis, I have been there... Many many sacrifices. When I "hit the wall"... I regrouped and then started waking up at 3:30 AM... Started from scratch. Never lose focus of what the goal it... STEP 1. It's doable. The struggle is what makes the prize so much sweeter.

Hello! Thank you for such encouraging messages! I just wanted to let you know that I passed my step 1 exam, and even though I don't personally know you, you were an essential part in that achievement. Thank you so much! Now I'm studying for step 2 CK 💪🙈

Hi Dr. Neil! Thanks so much for making this video. Due to a chronic illness, I failed Step 2 CK 3 times and passed on my 4th attempt. I’m starting to study for Step 3 right now, and I’m very anxious about my ability to succeed. I’m hoping that a passing (and competitive!) score will help me match this cycle. Your journey inspires me and this video is exactly what I needed to hear tonight. Thank you 🙏🏻🙂

Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us, it is very easy to relate. Kudos to you for actually talking about your low NBME scores on the social media platform. You're really my inspiration in giving back & not forgetting where you came from. This video touched me and made my eyes watery, I have jotted this down in my journal. I appreciate what you do, I agree you're meant to do this. Change people lives one at a time. Hats-off to you Dr Neil.

I was studying for about one year for step 1, drop residency in my country because I wanted to score High in order to maximize my chance to match in the US. October 2021, first NBME: 189; December: 204; 10 January 2022, 3rd NBME: 201 Right now, I m freaking out... I postpone to take the exam pass/fail but I’m not comfortable with my scores... And, I don’t feel like I can concentrate/study anymore, can’t spend no more money since I really don’t have it...(come from the poorest country in the America/caraibes) For some reason I can’t pray... As a pseudo, I’m “Le Persévérant”, I just know I won’t let it go, I WONT QUIT!!! But guys i don’t know how to keep moving anymore... I was trying my best... I’m so scared... Some tips, some encouragement maybe will help...

@@RandyNeilMD Hi Dr! I Come back to let you know I pass my exam !😊 Because of you, I didn’t afraid of biostatistics, thank you! To others who will take the exam, my advice: don’t let you get down by the NBMEs self-assessment. Keep pushing and take the UWSA2. January 10th, NBME 201; January 20th, UWSA2: 234 which make me very confident to take my exam on January 27th.

NOT end of ROAD. Regroup. I would say it is safe to save that every Medical school on EARTH has had people not pass the exam. I would go as far as to say, record yourself describing how you feel and how you do not want to experience it again... It may motivate you for the next round. Don't give up on your dream. I have been around many people who didn't pass... Does it hurt (on many levels)? YES. Is it recoverable? YES.
