Massive Wood Fired Neapolitan Pizza Challenge in Kansas City!!

A&Z #1071 - Professional eater Randy Santel versus 1889 Pizza Napoletana's Massive Wood Fired Neapolitan Pizza Challenge hosted by 1889 Pizza Napoletana in Kansas City, Kansas!! I finished up my dietetic internship on May 19th, 2022 and ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I knew we were leaving for Dublin, Ireland on June 7, 2022 to begin our international travel plans. Before leaving, we wanted to attempt 12 food challenges around 6 midwestern USA states. For event #6 of 12, we headed to Kansas City, Kansas so we could each attempt and help kick off the new Kansas City's Own Massive Wood Fired Neapolitan Pizza Challenge hosted by 1889 Pizza Napoletana. Owners Jason and Kelli Kolich offer 12 different signature Neapolitan pizza pies on their menu, and I had 1 hour to eat 6 of them, weighing around 6.5lbs/3kg total. Katina chose 6 for her food challenge and I ordered the other 6 for my eating challenge. I was trying to become the first champion to win my $89.89 Italian pizza meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on the Wall of Fame!! BIG thanks to everyone with 1889 Pizza Napoletana for the wonderful pizza, drinks, and hospitality!! 1889 Pizza offers 12 different signature pizza pies on their menu. Brave challengers have a 1 hour time limit to feast on 6 of them. Since Katina and I were helping to start the challenge, we split up the menu and she ate 6 and I ate the other 6. These are my six specialty pizzas:

Butcher Meat Lovers Pizza - San Marzano Tomato Sauce + Fresh Mozzarella + Pepperoni + Scimeca’s Italian Sausage + Housemade Meatball + Basil + Parmigiano Reggiano + Olive Oil.
Mahalo Pie - Extra Virgin Olive Oil + Fresh Mozzarella + Roasted Chicken + Crispy Bacon + Jalapeños + Sliced Pineapple.
Vendura Veggie Pizza - San Marzano Tomato Sauce + Fresh Mozzarella + Artichoke Hearts + Roasted Red Peppers + Broccolini + Sliced Almonds + Fontina + Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Tricolore Pizza Pie - Pesto Sauce + Fresh Mozzarella + Goat Cheese + Pepperoni + Sweet and Tangy Peppadew Peppers.

I thought the prices were spot on for specialty pizzas. I've watched so many videos that I am thinking more about the time than the actual finishing. I picked 28:42 for this video and you started out strong. But I didn't consider all that extra chewing of crusts. Still a great job for the win. I would think the most fun part is before the challenge even started as you and Katina divided out which pizzas you were going to do. Then to watch and see how they do it. I know eventually this will come to an end as new doors and opportunities come about, but until then I will enjoy the ride, lol.
