Glad I found this video. I purchased one of these rifles when they first came out. It has been a great rifle and have taken quite a few game animals over the years. You have done a good job of covering many issues that are so important. Thanks.

I bought my 10 ML-II back in 2012 and Bill Ball recommended that I use a charge of 42-44 grains AA 5744 powder and a . 452 diameter 300 grain XTP (not the XTP mag bullet) with the short MMP sabot for deer hunting in NC. My shots are less than 150 yards and I haven't lost a deer yet. I baby my 10 ML-II and it has served me well.I would like to know what velocity and energy I should expect with that load. Mine shot like crap! I bedded the stock and lapped the bore. Now it will shot anything. But, my go to load is 69 grains of 2015 and a 300 grain gold tip harvester and the red smokeless sabot.

I bought a savage ml 2 ,had a lot of trouble with the sabot shot awful no groups at all , I found Thor bullets no sabot required work great .

I pick one of these up a couple of years ago. Stainless barrel, thumbhole stock. Have not shot it yet. Are these things worth anything?
