ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਘਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ੨ ॥ Sri Rag, First Guru. ਆਪੇ ਰਸੀਆ ਆਪਿ ਰਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ Lord Himself is the Relisher, Himself the Relish, and Himself the Enjoyer. ਅਰਥ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਸ-ਭਰਿਆ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਰਸ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਚੋਲੜਾ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਜ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ He Himself is the Vesture (bride) and Himself the Couch and Bridegroom. ਅਰਥ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੇਜ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਖਸਮ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ My Master is dyed with love and is fully pervading every where. Pause. ਅਰਥ: ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਛੀ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਆਪੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਜਾਲੁ ॥ He Himself is the fisherman and the fish and Himself the water and the net. ਅਰਥ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਫੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਛੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਲ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਛੀ ਫੜੀਦੀ ਹੈ)। ਆਪੇ ਜਾਲ ਮਣਕੜਾ ਆਪੇ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਲਾਲੁ ॥੨॥ He Himself is the metal ball of the net and Himself the bait within. ਅਰਥ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਜਾਲ ਦੇ ਮਣਕੇ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਸ ਦੀ ਬੋਟੀ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਲ ਵੱਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਦੀ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਰੰਗੁਲਾ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੇਰਾ ਲਾਲੁ ॥ My maid! my Beloved is in every way playful. ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੋਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਨਿਤ ਰਵੈ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਦੇਖੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਹਾਲੁ ॥੩॥ He ever enjoys the virtuous wife. Behold my plight (away from Him.) ਅਰਥ: ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਵੇਖ (ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ॥੩॥ ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਤੂ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਤੂ ਹੰਸੁ ॥ Prays Nanak, listen to my supplication. Thou art the tank and Thou the swan. ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੰਸ ਹੈਂ। ਕਉਲੁ ਤੂ ਹੈ ਕਵੀਆ ਤੂ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੁ ॥੪॥੨੫॥ Thou art the lotus and Thou the water-lily. Thou Thyself art pleased on beholding (them). ਅਰਥ: ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੰਮੀ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਜਮਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਲਾਲ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੪॥੨੫॥

ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਘਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ੨ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਰਸੀਆ ਆਪਿ ਰਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਚੋਲੜਾ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਜ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਛੀ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਆਪੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਜਾਲੁ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਲ ਮਣਕੜਾ ਆਪੇ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਲਾਲੁ ॥੨॥ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਰੰਗੁਲਾ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੇਰਾ ਲਾਲੁ ॥ ਨਿਤ ਰਵੈ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਦੇਖੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਹਾਲੁ ॥੩॥ ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਤੂ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਤੂ ਹੰਸੁ ॥ ਕਉਲੁ ਤੂ ਹੈ ਕਵੀਆ ਤੂ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੁ ॥੪॥੨੫॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 23} ਪਦ ਅਰਥ: ਰਸੀਆ = ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਰਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ = ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਚੋਲੜਾ = ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ ਚੋਲੀ, ਇਸਤਰੀ। ਭਤਾਰੁ = ਖਸਮ।1। ਰੰਗਿ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ, ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ। ਰਤਾ = ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ = ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ। ਭਰਪੂਰਿ = ਨਕਾ ਨਕ।1। ਰਹਾਉ ਮਾਛੀ = ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਫੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਜਾਲ ਮਣਕੜਾ = ਜਾਲ ਦਾ ਮਣਕਾ {ਲੋਹੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਮਣਕੇ ਜੋ ਜਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲਾਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਕਿ ਜਾਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਡੁਬਿਆ ਰਹੇ}। ਲਾਲੁ = ਮਾਸ ਦੀ ਬੋਟੀ (ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਫਸਾਣ ਲਈ) । 2 ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ = ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ। ਰੰਗੁਲਾ = ਚੋਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਲਾਲੁ = ਪਿਆਰਾ। ਰਵੈ = ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ = ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ।3। ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ = ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਉਲੁ = (ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ। ਕਵੀਆ = (ਚੰਨ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ) ਕੰਮੀ। ਵੇਖਿ = ਵੇਖ ਕੇ। ਵਿਗਸੁ = ਖਿੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।4। ਅਰਥ: ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋੇਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।1। ਰਹਾਉ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਸ-ਭਰਿਆ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਰਸ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੇਜ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਖਸਮ ਹੈ।1। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਫੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਛੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਲ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਛੀ ਫੜੀਦੀ ਹੈ) । ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਜਾਲ ਦੇ ਮਣਕੇ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਸ ਦੀ ਬੋਟੀ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਲ ਵੱਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਦੀ ਹੈ) ।2। ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੋਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਵੇਖ (ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ।3। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੰਸ ਹੈਂ। ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੰਮੀ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਜਮਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਲਾਲ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।4। 25।

You Yourself behold them, and blossom forth in bliss. ||4||25|| ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਸ-ਭਰਿਆ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਰਸ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੇਜ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਖਸਮ ਹੈ ।੧। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋੇਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਫੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਛੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਲ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਛੀ ਫੜੀਦੀ ਹੈ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਜਾਲ ਦੇ ਮਣਕੇ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਸ ਦੀ ਬੋਟੀ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਲ ਵੱਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਦੀ ਹੈ) ।੨। ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੋਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਵੇਖ (ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ।੩। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੰਸ ਹੈਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੰਮੀ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਜਮਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਲਾਲ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ।੪।੨੫।
