I had exactly the same on mine, Dealer serviced and the filter was not seated properly. Luckily I checked mine only a few miles afterwards as I wanted to change the screws as I could see them being a future headache. I guess they do it to save their time.

@@neilwhite8131 maybe a little unfair of me to call out dealers on this. It’s down to the individual mechanic and I’m sure they all want to get the job done as quickly as possible

@@Woodyrvf750 I remember being so surprised to find all those manky headed screws. Did make me wonder what the designer was thinking. when other similar motors get away with latches.

I have the same on my driver's side one where the bolt has rusted and they have just ox'd up the lid rather than behave and do a decent job and also cracked the box top and bottom. They seem to be £300.00 new so I will look for a used one.

@@benfel9403 bugger. I bet they are readily available used.

Worth cleaning the MAF if it’s been like that for a while.
@Woodyrvf750Ай бұрын
@@johngriffin641 interesting, I’ve cleaned the MAF recently. I was surprised how quickly it seemed to look clogged. I’m just about to drop the oil so I’ll look at the MAF when it’s draining.
@johngriffin641Ай бұрын
@ the MAP sensor on the intake ‘donut’ gets sooted up quickly due to the EGR but the MAF sensor on the airbox should never need cleaning unless you have a situation like this.

@ good to know, I’ll go take a look. Thanks.

That airbox MAF sensor is a fancy looking thing isn’t it! Mine looks pretty clean and it doesn’t look like the kind of device that I should be squirting with brake cleaner!

Typical. Top tip = Advanced Factors sell replacement air filter screws with a hex head to replace the rubbish cross head originals.

@@robholland1937 good to know Rob. Useful info for anyone looking to maintain these themselves. I know you’ve used Advanced Factors for most of your L322 parts. Is there anything that sets them apart from other L322 parts suppliers?
