I had the 'charging system fault' message come up.... 1200+ miles ago (early December) and, apart from the gauge showing charging at 13.2-13.4v when it's supposed to be 14-14.5, a remapping centre and TWO auto sparks cannot even find a fault code. Got to get to the bottom of it as MoT is looming.... So sorry for you - that's the kind of trip I wanted to take my 4.4 tdv8 on (same year as yours but a Vogue, not SE) but 'dis-inclined' now tbh. Ironically, a Duster was the other car I considered before buying the l322, but opted for the RR as I couldn't get all the kit for my gazebo hire business in the back. Lastly, it's interesting what vehicles the French go for in the mountains. Some years ago, we went to Isola 2000 on new years eve which involves a steep climb up a twisty road with 6in compacted snow all the way. There's an 'Obligatoire' snow chain sign at the bottom, so we put ours on. We'd hired a mk1 Opel/Vauxhall Meriva and noticed on the main road approaching the turn for I2k how many others we passed or saw. When we started going up the hill to I2k almost everything else was struggling, but us and every other Meriva was shooting up the road! And front wheel drive only.
@Woodyrvf7507 күн бұрын
@@shanewaterman4125 very interesting. When my alternator packed up it didn’t give a fault code that the GAP IID tool could read so don’t assume that the ‘charging system fault’ message leaves a fault code. I think all us Range Rover owners believe ours are the only cars capable of driving up a snow covered hill. As you’ve seen, this is far from the truth. They are actually just a very comfortable way to make the journey.
