It sounds expensive but some of the jobs are because I don't really know the history of the car and its preventative maintenance. Next year should work out cheaper hopefully.

I suggest you purchase the Gap Diagnostics IID tool! You won't like the price but it pays for its self the first day you use it!

I have 2003 l322 4.4 v8 BMW engine..it also runs on LPG...at today's lpg price 56p a litre it takes about 30quid to fill the tank...and 260 miles to empty the gas tank on a long run...ON A RANGE ROVER...makes it a VERY affordable car to run..

Breakdown Automotive like you I love my Range Rover, there is nothing on the road quite like it. Also I was quite surprised when totalling up the costs this last year just how little I had spent on it.

I'd just like to say good for you. A fantastic car at a fantastic price. I'm sad to see you're in a wheelchair. Just getting used to one myself and it's difficult. My accident, in March, this year, I 'got in the way' of my 4x4. Destroyed my pelvis, left shoulder and left some skull fractures. Still alive, though life has changed dramatically. My worry is can I continue driving?. Good luck.

Very nice video... I have been wanting to get one of these... the ones I’ve looked at We’re not worth the effort in my opinion... I have a Range Rover classic And it is my baby...an upgrade addition is in the future...this was a good watch ... I liked it.

It’s turning out to be a lot cheaper to run than expected (the repairs, etc are an extra cost but they need to be done and will improve the running costs even more).

It's $100.00 an hour labor for a Chevy or Ford dealership to charge. Have no idea what A Land Rover dealer would charge. I'm still looking for my L322, missed a couple of good ones, still mad at myself for that.

Excellent content 👍🏻👍🏻 just been to look at my first l322 was Quite Anxious about buying one until I found you on here👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻with this video . The one I looked at had been not used for three years 🥴but 135000 km with history.Could this be a problem??

If its in KM's then that's just over 80,000 miles. Depending on model, gearboxes can go at around 120,000 ish miles if your unlucky. Even with history I would have a serious look at it as it has not been used in three years. Go for a long drive, make sure everything works and then buy with your head not your heart or it could hit you in the pocket.

if it has the tyre pressure monitoring system - tpms - replacing with standard valves will eventually cause it to throw codes and a dash warning light.

I'm almost sure that mine doesn't have TPMS, I believe that it was an option from 2002 - 2007. I think someone has at some time fitted wheels from a newer model.

Hi, A good video, but I have no idea how you get 30MPG. My one does 19 or 20 MPG regardless of towing or not.

I get between 24-27mpg on normal town driving etc and can get just over 30mpg on a long run. Not much traffic on French motorways so it’s pretty much a constant speed.

I could be wrong but I have read that its only the RR Sport that has to have the body removed, on the full sized RR you can change them in situ.

I'm still umming and arring to get one. My old 300tdi defender is great, but I feel like a change! I do all the maintenance myself, but its the unknown on a range Rover that scares me. Diagnostics etc.

If your good on the tools and have a decent diagnostic tool (see my last video), then they are a great car. Especially as the TDV8's are now a reasonable price, just look for one with good service history.

An MOT inspection every year? Does the UK government think recently modern cars fall apart in a year? How many accidents are caused by vehicle malfunctions? Must be a big cost to run that program. In British Columbia, Canada, we used to have tailpipe emission checks but that was canned years ago as most old polutting cars are off the road. No vehicle inspections of any kind these days. Love my 2008 RRSC and 2000 P38.

An MOT applies when a car has reached four years old and then needs doing every year. I spent quite a few years as an MOT tester and you would be surprised at how many newer cars fail even basic safety items like tyres and brakes. In most cases you can't leave it up to the driver to ensure their car is up to scratch as jobs wouldn't get done and more accidents would happen.

@@Bensgarage Perhaps the government people responsible should read Ben Collins book "How to Drive" where he points out that driver education is very poor and that poor driving causes "many times more road deaths than manufacturer defects". Spending some of that road testing money on better training might be better. In BC we have multi-stage licensing for new drivers but not sure about training. Personally I have not had any training since I got my license 52 years ago and I know my attention is less focused than when I was younger so I try to be more careful.
