No problem at all. Don’t care about like or subscribers, just trying to help with any knowledge I can with regards to fixes etc. unfortunately years ago you used to have lots of threads and forums packed full of info for that, now a days the net has gone so shit it’s impossible to find anything 🙈

Hi Tom, i am following this great videos since i am considering a similar conversion. one of the topics I am researching is the road speed signal, M51 ECU used impulses and M57 get info through canbus. This is needed for cruise control and AC compressor control. Have you got a solution for this or simply discarding cruise control? Thanks and keep the videos coming! Miguel

I’m using the ECU from the bmw 530D which has had the EGR, EWS and speed signal removed and it’s also been remapped by Will Ashton at house of torque in the UK. Also using a stand alone wiring harness from him. Not too bothered about cruise control, would be nice to have it but the AC should be easy enough to figure out.

You can hardwire the ac compressor control via the hevac and fusebox as it is the standard p38, and just connect the ac request and ac grant signals together so the hevac can run the compressor whenever it wants.

Tamsin smith is designing some electronics that can inject the speed signal into the canbus data, and extract useful signals from it to send to the becm like fuel usage, warning lights etc.

Tamsin is a female. You can follow her on Instagram “tamsinsadventures” . Not sure if she will sell the device she makes but she’s very helpful

these are not cheap to replace for new, buying a used example is a waste of money, as it will likley be as used as your original.

That’s why RezRemaps is a much better alternative and very reasonably priced too. He changes out all the parts and bench tests them to get them like new.

@@tompage where is he based.

@chrisgreenwood271 he’s based in Portugal. I sent him my 5 blend motors, my HeVAC display and 2 driver side door lock actuators (one as a spare) and I think it cost me about €35 to ship the lot and I had the whole lot back rebuilt in about 10 days. Look up RezRemaps on Facebook his name is Andre.

@@tompage thanks for that, my blend motors need swapping out, looks like a pain of a job, I did manage to manually set them using a 9v battery via the connector that's connected to the Hevac unit, just so they give some heat for winter time.
