I bought one of these to tide me over until I found a new L322; never did get another 322. This does everything I need at the fraction of the price. Fitting a Powerbox really helps the drivability. Things do go wrong, but by modern standards they are very simple cars. Folks worry about the air suspension, but it's just a compressor and four bags: changing the latter is the same as changing a spring. The looks have grown on me too. She's handsome I say, handsome.
@Petrolblog3 жыл бұрын
That's a good point: the P38 is still relatively simple. That will become a positive as the car gets older and new cars get more complex.

Changing an air spring is easier than changing a coil.
@JagdgeschwaderX15 күн бұрын
I've had one of these for 15 years. You just have to keep up with maintenance and don't wait until something breaks especially the suspension. They are really not that complicated but there are a few things that can be expensive like the V8 slipped liner/porous block issue and the BECM. Mine is looking tired but I can't see the point of replacing it, a better looking P38 could bring all sorts of problems with it and the L322 road tax is ridiculous. Mine has the engine problem above, you have to keep an eye on coolant levels but it's still fine, that will cost me 3.5-4k to sort out. 2 years ago I bought a replacement BECM which cost £470. I paid £7000 in 2010 and I have spent money on it for sure but it owes me absolutely nothing and has actually been the best car I've ever owned. In it's hey day I drove that beauty to the south of France 3 years in a row.

I agree with your belief in the P38 values. I always look to see whether a vehicle is being imported from Japan as a mark as to whether they are being considered as collectable/desirable. Great video and keep them coming. I love my 97 4.6 HSE.

It's a great useful tool to have around the farm. If you wanted a clean example there's plenty out there wouldn't be a bad idea to one add to the fleet. Late model Vogues are very smart or the rare Holland & Holland which is just gloriously appointed.
