This is the best 4x4 video ever! I saw thousand of times, but never feel tired! For me, can see the Black Betty swinging.....is amazing! Me and my Sport miss her so much!thanks again for your tracks and all of your channels.

Hi Jamie, Your RRS and you became an inspiration for me when I decided to basically "retire" from track day racing and switch to 4wding. My RRS TDV8 will eventually become quite a virtual sibling to your "Betty" , even though the distance between them is more than an ocean or two! 8) :) I've enjoyed the RRS TDV8 so much offroad, that I can't imagine myself choosing any other car than that. I still need some things to upgrade on my "Blue" Betty, to become as mud-ready as your Black Betty is! :)

The triton driver is awesome, makes me want to buy one. Good to see a Range Rover sport getting dirty.

They certainly are incredible machines. Hard to believe they discontinued the TDV8 version here in Australia - very sad. The TDV8 in my opinion is the best version they ever released. Glad to hear you've been inspired by what we do. Anytime you need any info on mods, don't hesitate to msg me. Had a quick look at some of your vids - some brilliant stuff there. Am sure you'll find ways to get as big an adrenalin pump from offroading as you did as a track driver. All the best Jamie

Watching differrent breeds play together is GrEaT! Doesnt matter what you ride, as long as you enjoy it :) Now that ive said that.. 'Go the Rangey'!! lol.

@mekadodo No damage - just a few scraps. Have found her reasonably indestructible so far. As for the mods, she has had a few extras added including a Davis Landy's performance chip, Mitchel Bros off-road hitch, the steel dynamic wheels and cooper muddies of course, dual batteries and a pure sine wave inverter, GME UHF and a set of fuzzy dice ;-)

National Parks have taken over quite a bit of the State Forest there now and some of the tracks have apparently been graded. Would be interesting to get back down there again and see which tracks are left.

No separate CDL in the Rangie. It adjusts it automatically as part of the traction control system.

@drsnapid will hopefully head back there for easter and get an update. I understand they are grading quite a lot of roads in the area. Can't imagine they'd get into this track though.

@nathsgames Definitely the kind of place you could return to again and again. Good luck with the xmas trip. If we get down there prior will post some details of track conditions etc.

It's actually quite weird for me not to put music in (I'm used to big dramatic productions) but certainly easier to edit. Gotta listen to what the people want ;-)

Wow, the Rangey climbing out of the gully at 10:00. That is real off roaring. Hats of to you for taking the Rangey Off Road, and doing what she is supposed to do. Here in the UK I have never seen one off roaring, which is such a shame in such a capable vehicle. You can really see the weight holding her back on the slippery climb. Do you have any VW Syncro's in your club. A bit too old and fragile I suspect, but great to have a kitchen when you get to where you are going.

We are not doing any work with that group anymore after numerous issues we had with them across multiple vehicles. On the last occasion their mechanic lied about the repairs and almost caused us to have a major accident. Where are you based Peter?

Hey mate, do you think a 2003 Nissan x-trail ST would be able to tackle some of these tracks with the right tyres? It's not a dedicated 4WD, more of a soft roader, so I just wanted a professional opinion :) We actually took it to the sand dunes once and got stuck at the entrance (there's something to brag about!) and had to get a prado to get us out, but that was due to lack of experience and knowledge, like lowering tyre pressure. Great video by the way!

Love your videos, makes me wanna take my triton for some 4wheeling this year as well. Question to the triton in the video... What kind of modifications were done? Mine is stock atm and wanna take him out first for a couple of times (easy stuff) before I change anything, to get a feel what the car is capable of.

There are a load of mods on this rig but the main options that make a huge difference for offroad performance are the 2inch lift with front and rear lockers with a good set of mud tyres on steel rims.

Misadventure 4WD I dont see it on the land rover genuine parts store, or on rover north, i can find it on ebay but that is about it, am i missing something? thanks for the reply by the way.
@Misadventure4WD12 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. When researching the specs on different 4wd's I found myself coming back to the sport and asking the same question... 'Why don't more people take them offroad?". The answer for most people is money but that's just a bullshit excuse. Nissan Patrols and Land Cruisers are all the same kind of money these days and are still only playing catch up with LR for offroad capabilities. The only crime is that LR didn't do something about promoting the vehicles this way themselves.

Hey 13, Xtrail is really only a soft-roader, not something you ant to tackle some of the really rough stuff you see on this channel. Having said that, if you don't mind bending her a bit, you can get almost any car through if you really want to ;-) The X-trail is a good all-rounder for mild dirt tracks and the road but not a serious 4wd proposition.

arent u damaging the luxury suv? maintenance is expensive and the car is very very expensive
@Misadventure4WD9 жыл бұрын
+Barney B it's what it was made for mate and to be honest, not much more expensive than any other modern 4x4 with regards to repairs.
@goldenboyi19899 жыл бұрын
+Misadventure 4WD The driver is really giving it a beating.How much did the damage cost? suspension, springs and damage to the frame.The RR is a status SUV and most people rarely take it off road like that.Probably the discovery or Vogue for that, but the RRS was meant to be a sports car cum a little off road here and there
@Misadventure4WD8 жыл бұрын
There wasn't actually any damage on this trip Barney or repairs required others than our electronic handbrake jamming when filled with mud. That car is incredibly rugged. Don't forget that the SPORT title is a bit of a misnomer and it is really just a Discovery 3 with a different body. They are quite spartan inside by comparison with the rest of the range. The Range Rover vogue and others are on a larger platform.
@mekadodo14 жыл бұрын
9:59 ouch. Any undercarriage damage? Looks like you guys had a whole heap of fun :) Btw have you done any mods to the RRS other than the snorkle?
@blibbax12 жыл бұрын
I actually think the 4WD Xtrail is comparable to a S1 Discovery in off-road ability. They're really surprisingly capable.

Mitsubishi l 200 is better,climbed that difficult ramp without efort from one test,range rover sport from two attempts with efort and painting!
@Misadventure4WD5 жыл бұрын
RRS was actually a lot worse on this section as there were more attempts than shown on the video. Triton has lockers and the shorter wheelbase on the RRS wasn't suited to this particular section as there were a few sections where both wheels were stepping up at the same time.
