My wife has a 24 RRS, our fourth since 2016 and this one by far is most refined vehicle we have ever had. I drive a 24 BMW X5 M60i and the tech in this latest generation RRS rivals and even exceeds the BMW in some areas. I am pleasantly surprised by everything in this latest iteration, from the driving/handling perspective, roominess, and tech. We have had no significant issues with our Sports, however my BMW X5 left us stranded 600 miles from home because of a drivetrain malfunction last summer, when it was brand new. The bmw had to be shipped back on a flat bed, module was bad. What some may think as bad losing the physical buttons, it is surprisingly intuitive and simple to operate in the latest form. Again, kinda taken aback by this vehicle. Steep pricing I’d say is only draw back.

Absolutly agree. I've had a Velar and now a 23 plate RRSport. Not one single issue. I have had a new engine, 2 new gearboxses, 3 new JCW steering wheels in my brand new Mini Cooper S. A new transfer Box and front diff in my brand new BMW 335d tourer, new handbrake assemblies on my Z4 M40i. Whole new set of alloy wheels (due to corrosion) on a new BMW 5 series. Why do these people keep on and on about a fantastic British product. JLR employees 10s of thousands of dedicated workers across the UK. Fly the flag.

@@philedwards7174 I drive Lexus and couldn't give a toss who builds them or who buys them. Every brand has had or has it's high days. Stuff changes. Love my 110 built in Spain that always requires this or that every year. Love the Lexus for comfort and reliability and most of all trade in or resell value. Wife's 1992 Cooper because she scares the pants off me when she drives. Finally all the great BMWs I've had (and there has been tons) for pure thrills, power, reactivity. General hooning around, track days, dedicated chassis track specials with reinforced cages. All good man. But running around in nunce mobile made in India with cheap outdated simple style, for overinflated egos just screams of ,🍋, geez it just stinks . All EU car brands suck now.

I've got a 2023 P440e hybrid model, great all-rounder and the physical controls are definitely better having sat in the MY2024 version, too much on the screen for my liking. My guess is they will reverse that in a future upgrade. 24k miles under the belt in 9 months, no issues at all.

Nice review, I’ve had a ‘24 L460, full fat rr for a week and 800mi now. I shared your concern for the loss of buttons for the hvac and terrain modes, but the steering wheel volume roller and the fwd and reverse track buttons work very well. The screen has fixed climate controls on the left and ride portions of the screen which are very easy to use. I adore my RR and the ride is the perfect blend of magic carpet and performance for me.

Moving of switch gear from centre console is in line with many other manufacturers, I believe this is done to encourage us drivers to use voice activation to set heating levels etc. This is for safety reasons. We just need to get used to talking to the car. Trying to activate aspects of the car off the screen whilst driving is nearly impossible.

Much prefer the older infotainment system you had in the test car over the new one with everything shoved into the screen. A comment comparing the space in the car, boot size and rear seats, to its rivals would have been useful. I’d buy a used Audi Q7 rather than this. 300kg lighter, cheaper, more mpg & range, seats seven (why have such a vast car if it can’t accommodate as many as possible?), no need for mega off-road ability, more reliable??? P.S. You say that the RRS has been forgotten, but what about the Discovery? I haven’t seen an updated road test on one for years.

RR Sport: Just look at it! Porsche, [Ugly and odd], Audi Q7 ...better... and i could go on. Simply put nothing in terms of Sport SUV comes close. The minimalist [reductive] design is second to none. Stunning. Even though the RR Sport is everywhere [it] still looks stunning and turns heads. [Try spec'ing with 'silver wheels, and without black roof panel. Under the radar.] As for the reliability issues, i know a number of owners and no major issues and the when minor issues occur the dealership network has sorted out. This is an amazing piece of kit!

The X5 50e is just a better car than this all round. You don't have to suffer the reliability, insurance and depreciation issues. Soft and wafty with the air suspension and can tackle a corner better. Looks, interior and badges are subjective.

For a largeish SUV the BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne are better. I think the Porsche Macan S is best of all if you don’t need a really big car - it’s such a superb all-rounder. The cabins of the Porsches and BMW are significantly nicer than RR, in my opinion, they drive better, and Range Rover has had such big issues with reliability and parts supply.

Range Rover has proven it’s self year after year…to be unreliable. One of THE most unreliable vehicles you can buy! Every manufacturer has access to the same materials, aluminum, steel, carbon fibre, you name it. They have access to the same level of engineering, either mechanical or electrical. So companies like this either refuse to make reliable vehicles which means they don’t care about their customers or they can’t which is pathetic after being in business for so long, Hyundai has only been is business since the 70s and is far more reliable than Range River, they’re not great but they look what they’ve accomplished.
