Ranger Boat Factory Recessed Foot Pedal

Years ago, Ranger Boats started glassing in a recessed foot pedal tray into each of their boats from the factory. It was an available option that was always available under the deck, even if it wasn't cut out and trimmed from the factory. By buying the cut out template and trim from Ranger, you are able to cut out the deck to expose this factory tray and trim it out to look like a factory option.
Be sure to call Ranger to make sure your model and year had this factory option available. Boats 2007 and newer had this from the factory. previous years might as well. Check first before cutting!

Glad it helped! It’s not too hard at all. Just take your time and make sure the template is the correct side up. They don’t usually mark the template which side is up.

​@@FullQuiverOutdoors Finally got er done using your video to help. I will say that template is worth every penny and makes it alot less stressful. I ended up using a hole saw and cutting the middle of the template area out to peek in. I managed to get a tape measure in to verify my template positioning was correct. I tried wood blades for the jigsaw but they burned up in about 20 seconds so the key is use metal blades. I Think I went through 2 to get it done. Thanks again for posting! 👍👍

I’ll buy that template if you still have it! Ranger told me 4 weeks to get one but they have the trim piece in stock.

I’m sorry, it was just a piece of card stock and I threw it away after I did it. If you were good with carpentry, you could drill a hole in the center of the foot well (you have lots of room for error) and use a piece of wire to feel for the corners and mark them. Keep cutting the hole bigger until you can use the trim piece as the template. I don’t think that would be difficult after I’ve seen how it lays out. Once you’ve got a 5x5” hole or so, you can literally feel with your hands where the sides are, measure and use the trim piece as the template.

I ordered mine and my template doesn't have a pedestal hole for alignment. Did yours come with one or did you make that?

Mine came with a hole for alignment. Sounds like Ranger didn’t print your template correct.

So I called ranger today and was told engineering does things a certain way for certain things and for different year model boats. They would be happy to pass along my idea of punch a hole for my butt seat to aid in alignment for future though.... This company had gone to shit

There’s a drain hole glassed in from the factory.

I’m sorry, I do not. I don’t know if each recess is different shape or size either. I wouldn’t want to give you the wrong one if you didn’t have the same exact boat. I called Ranger and explained what I wanted and ordered it.
