Buy the Ranger RSC-2TF Folding Engine Hoist at Summit Racing: www.summitracing.com/int/part...
6 Caster Engine Hoist - Ranger has a part of the engine hoist and shop crane market cornered due to the design of their folding crane. If you need the ability to move the crane in any direction at any time, this is the crane for you. The 6 casters give this crane the ability to easily remove the engine from a vehicle from the side. With the ability of the crane to lift up to 93" at the bottom hook, we were able to have the car up on our 4 post car lift and still pick the motor with the ability to work above and below the car at the same time.
The jack designed into this shop crane is solid and performs well. We have used other models and their performance was lacking due to a poor quality jack. When you are moving and engine and transmission of the fender of a car, you have to rely on a solid engine hoist to protect a very expensive paint job.
RSC-2TF Features
Designed for shops with limited space
Folds for easy storage
Heavy steel construction for maximum durability
Boom is reinforced to increase strength and eliminate flex
Rugged hydraulic cylinder
Heavy-duty steel casters for easy positioning
Telescoping boom provides 4 positions
Includes heavy steel hook with safety latch
Wide base for maximum stability
Not Used Every Day
While the shop crane is built for everyday use, we really appreciate that this unit will fold up to take up very little of our valuable floor space. The ability to use this crane with a variety of reaches and maximum lift capacities gives the user more options to use this for just about anything from removing an engine to getting a toolbox out of the bed of a truck. Once you have a unit like this, the uses are endless.
For us, removing the engine from our 1971 Corvette C3 was this crane's first task. the casters proved themselves to be perfect for using the crane over the side of the car and pushing the crane sideways to pull the motor. Corvettes have a very long nose so pulling the motor from the front is not possible.
Since this item will ship truck freight, finding a place that has free shipping is recommended. Summit Racing is our go-to place to buy large tools and automotive parts!

I just purchased this crane, and my rear castors can extend out almost a foot. They must have added that feature after your video.

Go to harbor freight, get a pneumatic cylinder and replace the old cylinder with that.

I would definitely replace solid casters with rotating casters. Rather than buying a more expensive hoist.

It didn’t become clear after the fourth bolt where the 28 bolts attach. 6 years and the company is still clueless on how bad their assembly manual is. Yup another item Made in America !
