Man this makes me wanna get back there. Awesome vids Alec and that was great to see you get into a nice Torrance laker (thanks for the mention!). Uncle Doug is hilarious

Look at about 15:27, 15:42 as you walk the portage trail. I can see several trees that were struck by lightening.

I was planning to do this route in early May period but was unable to because of covid. Good to see that you got it and did it and it looks like an amazing time

It was tough planning canoe trips during that time with all the uncertainty and Doug Ford's obsession with banning backcountry camping. As soon as we were able to, we paddled this route and thoroughly enjoy it. Hopefully you can paddle this route in the future. Thanks for watching Henry!

It had been a long time since just the two of us paddled together. My first few canoe trips in high school were just with Doug. It was great to get him out on a longer trip and we thoroughly enjoyed this remote area of the province. Thanks for watching!

Love it. Just finished this route yesterday and came home to watch your video and relive the journey all over again. What a great route.

That's awesome! I really enjoyed the route too and hope to paddle it again in May. Did you see any other paddlers? and how were the water levels for you?
@zenrhinno3 жыл бұрын
@@AleconAdventures I saw one other paddler finishing the portage after the confluence between the two rivers. He gave me some great insight into the route ahead. Also spotted a couple sets of anglers in john boats in the bigger lakes, and the owner of the lodge on ranger lake stopped us on our last rainy portage and insisted we come inside for pancakes and coffee :). I would still say it was relatively remote though. The water levels were manageable with a lot of in and out of the canoes and lining, wasn't a great time of year if you were looking to run any rapids and of course the the log jams were still fierce. I thought late August would be tough on the fishing but the lake trout and the pickerel were still biting something fierce and also got on my first brook trout. Great content Alec, looking forward to see where your heading next.

It's a great route, I really enjoyed it. Higher spring water levels will make travel easier on the Nushatogaini river. Thanks for checking out the video!

Fantastic video(s). I just recently found your channel. Everyone needs an Uncle/Friend/Chef/Angler/Sherpa Doug in their life. You are very blessed to have such a good man in yours. Doug forgot to say “Razzle Dazzle” (Stripes reference) as he spun the paddle over his head lol. I’m also a big fan of Jon and Erin @LostLakes. I’m pretty sure that’s how I found your channel. Now I have to go back and watch your previous videos 👍🏻

Awesome to hear Alan! Welcome to the channel. Doug is a great paddling partner and he's the one who got me into backcountry canoe tripping. It was great to get out on a longer trip with him. Thanks for watching!

Finally got to part 2! I knew you'd have good water on the Aubinadong after seeing what the Nush was like going up. Wow, the portages have improved a lot since I went many moons ago. Likely much more travelled now than ever. Too bad about the lodge. Nice haul with the fishing! Thanks Alec!

I was surprised how clear the portages were along the Aubinadong, definitely more travelled now. Thanks for watching David!
