"The only equation you need for explosives is P....for plenty." That was from my assault pioneer inst in the 90s...we ended up blowing a steel sheet 2 inches thick in half....with 1 half going about 50m's into the air.....

Great Video, Very interesting to see how this critical and often overlooked capability is taught and perfected. EOD may not seem as glamours as Heavy Armour, Aviation or precision artillery, but it is just as important in achieving combined arms manoeuvre. Anyway who doesn’t love a few explosives!👍
@olivermilner1470 Жыл бұрын
It’s not overlooked at all. Sappers do this for a living.
@nathanielwhite8769 Жыл бұрын
@@olivermilner1470 Good Point, but when I said “overlooked” I was referring to the majority of people who may not have as an in-depth understanding about what combined arms manoeuvre involves, as apposed to someone who is either serving or has a keen interest in defence matters. I probably should have said something along the lines of “less appreciated”. Thanks for highlighting my error in use of language. Cheers.👍

This isn't EOD though, it's Dems. They're practicing demolitions, not the disposal of explosive ordinance.

So after some digging I see plenty of negative comments. The combat engineers course guys and what not, You have to understand there is alot going on behind the scenes with this Regiment. This training is most likely going to be used to conduct unilateral raids alongside partner forces. So Breaching. These guys are doing SFAUC (Green berets advanced CQB) so it does indeed make sense. But as always believe what you would like. Just my 2 cents

I taught B2 Combat Engineers a long time ago and it was always taught that you detonated to the face of the target, I am surprised that bulk explosive didn't slide off the target being detonated from the end, however this worked maybe because of the knots in the PE. Get as much as you can from that training people because you never know when you may need it. BTW we did carry explosives in Engineer tanks, CET's, AVRE's and Bridgelayers mainly for battle sims.

Special forces selection is way harder than ranger regiment which is just regular infantry units given extra training, as far as I know. You can’t really throw money at the SAS and expect more blokes to pass without lowering standards
@jarraandyftm Жыл бұрын
Increase the SAS and SBS? Why don’t you join then and help increase it? Sure with your skills on COD and as a seasoned keyboard warrior you’d fly through.
@zoiders Жыл бұрын
Let me explain this to you. Britain has an all volunteer army and marine corps. Training standards are high. Professional. There are boring old county regiments who are better trained than some nations so called "special forces". There is also the fact that there is no direct entry into the SF in Britian. Which as it should be, otherwise you end up with money pit units like the SEALs that are filled with steroid using white supremacists who lack prior military experience. Don't confuse our armed forces with the American ones. Different animals. We have higher overall standards and there is less of a need for so called "special" forces.
