Awesome video. I would love to see you field test any kit you build or buy for a 72 hour period, since most search and rescue operations consider the first 72 hours after a disaster or missing/lost hiker report the "golden hours" of when to find someone alive, and will be when search and rescue efforts are the most motivated and prolific. Would also be a good way of demonstrating all that can be done within 72 hours.

“Hope you really like this video “… Absolutely love your videos… You are so “in your element “ that it makes me wish I was there…🥹 I need to go back through your videos… in a survival setting, There are times when you don’t want to leave your vehicle? Maybe show some survival techniques specifically using your truck or SUV ? ( that’s probably a dumb request with all the survival information you’ve supplied, huh? ) See you next Sunday… Be safe…🙏🏻😇
@memathews2 жыл бұрын
That's a great request! Working SAR we don't want people leaving their vehicle, it's generally the largest sign that someone is in a location. Every year there are lost or stranded families on car trips in Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, California, etc., an understanding of what to have in a car and hope to use it would be helpful to some folks.

Another excellent video. For reference, the Henry AR-7 can hold a magazine in the receiver brining it to 3 enclosed magazine. The Armalite and Charter Arms versions kept you to 2 mags. Just a heads up
@psubs20012 жыл бұрын
My Charter Arms AR-7 from the 1980's only holds one magazine in the butt stock. A magazine in the receiver prevents the receiver from sliding all the way inside the butt stock. You have to remove the magazine from the receiver and slide it into the butt stock magazine cavity. I truly appreciate the improvements that Henry has made to the AR-7.

Enjoying the videos, thank you. A small hack you may be interested in; I bought several swaths of 100% cotton material, 2 black 1 orange at 4x4'. I hemmed all the way around then created linear pockets on opposing sides and double stitched. These trough sleeves add some function to these fabrics as well as maintaining the already 10 thousand uses. They can be slid on to poles for a litter, suspended in a frame for a chair, used for multi-stage filtration, signaling, clothing, medical, multi satchels, hammock..... A second hack was to take two large swaths of differing camo colors (desert, woods) and stitched them into a large bag config, 42x42" finished size. This has many uses of course but the reversible camo is pretty slick, has come in very handy for warmth and concealment while hunting, stowage, blind, shade, gathering, bed/bedding, bear bag, coat, pants, can be stuffed with insulation between the 2 fabrics.

Good video. Something you might want to consider doing that was taught to me, is plugging your ears with your fingers before blowing that whistle. If it's loud enough to be heard a long way off, then it's probably a little too loud for your ears that are just six inches away. You don't need your ears ringing when trying to hear a reply to your emergency whistle. It made sense to me, but what do I know. Keep up the great work.
