Ranjit Disale - The Best Global Teacher 2020

Ranjitsinh Disale - a selfless teacher. An innovative teacher with whose ingenuity he has imparted knowledge beyond boundaries! Ranjitsinh Disale was awarded the much anticipated Global Teacher prize and prize money of $1 million for his extensive work in the field of the girl child education and revolutionising textbooks in India.
He wanted to be an IT Engineer like millions of others running in the rat race but destiny had something else planned for him and for the world.
His first assignment was at the Zilla Parishad Primary School, Paritewadi village in Solapur district of Maharashtra in 2009. The school was located between a storeroom and cattle shed :( Challenged with child girl marriages and hence very low attendance rates he managed a social change by getting 100% attendance and stopping the child marriages altogether.
He then took upon himself to redesign the books from Std 1- 4 such that students can comprehend the subject better. Besides learning Kannada, Ranjitsinh helped re-design textbooks to include QR codes that would contain video lectures, assignments, stories and audio poems for better understanding. The innovation, on his part, helped his students develop problem-solving skills, creativity and better communication.
Ranjitsinh is also a part of ‘Let’s Cross the Borders’ project where he has connected with over 19,000 students from eight countries, including, India, Pakistan, Israel, Palestine, US, North Korea, Iraq and Iran.
His massive feat drew praise internationally and exemplified how the resolve of one man, to make an impact, can change lives.
He embodies the Sanatana Dharma values of selfless sewa and daan (donated US$500,000 to other 9 teachers in the final ten shortlisted candidates from all over the world)!
With his prize money, he hopes to start an initiative that would help recruit 5000 students from war-torn areas to Peace Army. UNESCO Assistant Director-General (Education) Stefania Giannini, stated, “Teachers like Ranjitsinh will stop climate change and build more peaceful and just societies. Teachers like Ranjitsinh will eliminate inequalities and drive forward economic growth. Teachers like Ranjitsinh will save our future.”

Abhishek ji - some are doing it and some are not. But one good thing is now we - the common people - are no more reliant on the news being spoon fed to us by these multi-crore money making media houses. We are no more forced to eat what they feed us. Social Media has provided to us the power to eat (meaning see) what we want, when we want and how many times we want. So let us celebrate that and am sure they will take cognisance of this very soon. Coz eventually they cannot bite the hand that feeds them !

Absolutely. Many keep on complaining that they do not have this, they do not have that, they do not have A/C in the classrooms, they do not have digital boards in the classrooms and so on ... But if one really wants to make a change then s/he will find ways and means to do it irrespective of what one has or not.
