Depends. Higher Elo UL many teams are littered with scrafty and Ninetails. Multiple regional Champions and worlds qualifiers had goon as the anchor on their GL lineup to qualify. All depends on what elo you are playing, which moveset you use and your own team comp/goals.

Obstagoon for me was such a good pvp Pokémon and was useful as it was strong while it was rare but since it’s com day people will use it way more and use counters way more for it my obstagoon is now pretty useless to me now but I’ll still use it for the time

Galarian Zigzagoon is one of the best pokemon to use in Great League Moveset 1.night slash 2 obstruct(not much useful)

Tip: Always go for Night Slash first and if you get the attack boost go for obstruct so you have a defense and attack boost while your opponent has their defense lowered. (Credits too Zyonik)

First time ever I have won 1 set (5 matches) on UL with this team. Not exactly the same coz I don't have trevenant so I replaced travenant into Umbreon (it is maxed lvl51). 3 won - surrendered by opponent and 2 won with full of intense. If you are good in swapping and know your pokemon weakness and strength 💪 then this team will help you to reach higher tier. Right now I am in Ace. Hope will reach legend soon.

Sorry if this is a dumb question I'm still kind of new to PoGo but why are those IVs considered #1 for Obstagoon in the Ultra League and not a 100% IV one?

Because lower attack means you can get more levels out of it, meaning you actually outdamage a hundo and are bulkier at the same time. 100% is preferred for master league though because you want to get as much cp as possible there, but not the case for great league and ultra league in MOST cases

@@_brenz i wouldnt say you outdamage a hundo, a hundo will do insanely more damage but it also means that they are incredibly weak. I go with a perfect shadow machamp for great league because with his high damage he can destroy any steel, rock or ice attackers in 5 counters whereas its normally 8 at rank 1. He dies incredibly fast but kills incredibly quickly before they can get a charged move out

@@Jacknorrington That's actually not true, since attack has the highest weight on cp it a 15/15/15 has lower attack than a higher rank iv like 1/15/14, because with lower attack you get much more levels out of it which means higher stats than a hundo at that specific cp

@@_brenz yeah, but it only rises so much. We were talking about having higher damage than a hundo which I said wasn't possible even at a 100% pvp IV. If you look up the stats the hundo still will have 5-6 attack higher but have 5-7 less hp and defense. It's a glass cannon that can win tons of fights but it's risky and depends on your play style.

The one showcased in the video, you need low attack for the UL. A hundo is pretty bad in UL and only good for master league

@@carterwells2144 Short version: Because your pokemon reaches a much higher level and can take more hits. With high attack, your mon has a very low level when it hits the 2500cp cap for ultra league.

@@carterwells2144 because attack has a huge weight on cp, meaning your cp is higher at let's say level 20 (for example), but if you have lower attack your cp is lower at the same level (in this example, level 20) and thus you can get more levels out of it which means higher overall stats.

I read some articles stating that obst needs atk in order to win some matchups. Actually, in pro play I guess the considered optimal is 6/8/8 or something like that. The calculators just give the best stat prods with ivs, but needs to check for difficult matchups and some mons needs atk to perform in the meta
