This game will definitely draw more people in. Not a lot of people care for random video game characters. Meanwhile these are characters our generation, and the generation before us, are familiar with. I guarantee you could show the roaster to a stranger and they’d know every character. You can’t do that with smash

@@katlyndobransky2419 I don't know about drawing in more people than smash, but it already has a lot more in terms of character personality and interactions. It has potential, but sadly we just have to wait and see. That being said, while it probably won't be towering over smash, but its most likely gonna leave Nickelodeon's attempt under the sewers, especially considering the difference in the level of polish thats already evident so early on.

@@h3rpad3rpacifilis Nick’s game is definitely being forgotten. You can’t have a game with such iconic characters and not have voice acting. But I think Multiverses will do exactly what it’s meant to do. Which is put people on a nostalgia trip and a fun/intense time fighting with such iconic characters. Smash has been around for many years, and clearly it won’t be forgotten soon. But I agree, this game has much more personality than I’ve ever seen smash have. Smash took away a lot of things from the past that made it great, such as the story mode Brawl had, and they also made the taunts much shorter. Both are great games that honestly shouldn’t be compared, but I feel like multiverses will draw in a more people. I feel like more people would rather play against iconic superhero’s and cartoon characters rather than a bunch of anime characters they don’t know. And on top of that, the game is free! I remember paying $60 for smash when it came out, plus more for the DLC, so even that is a major plus

One advantage for Multiverse is it being multi-platform. There's also a good chance that every single kid who doesn't own a switch will want Multiverse as well. I think it'll do well in the casual market. It'll never replace Smash competitively, but it can certainly give Smash a run for its money in the sales department.

I don't know, I think it has a fighting chance. The character roster, fantastic online functionality and the fact that it's completely free on multiple platforms is a big deal. It'll never replace Smash, but it does have a lot of things Smash doesn't.

I can't wait to see the full roster for this game. Warner is like the Microsoft of television, they basically own the rights to anything and everything when it comes to movies and T.V. shows. It's actually a really long list, but from what I found, it includes but is not limited to: -Cartoon Network shows -Adult Swim shows -JoJo's Bizarre Adventure -Mob Psycho 100 -DC -A Nightmare on Elm Street -Harry Potter -Game of Thrones This is a super short list (and who knows what video game rights they actually can obtain), but the potential roster is nearly limitless. The hype is real for that full release.

The issue for smash for me is A: playing on a Nintendo console and B: anytime they release new characters I don’t feel as if they’re different enough from the basic cast. With multiversus I actually feel like characters differ and have unique abilities. Also helps that I grew up watching a lot of the shows featured

@C mac 55th street What is it with the trend of hating Steven Universe? I can accept not liking the later seasons but overall I'd say it had quality to it. Plus, we've literally seen two Stevens in these videos give Charlie a rum for his money so they're not that awful anyways. I think people just hyperfixate on SU because of preconceived notions since most players Charlie fights die to him pretty quickly regardless and because half the people playing the game have not seen SU so barely anyone with skill is giving them attention.

For what it's worth, this is a closed alpha. Once there's a sizeable playerbase, that could easily change. That said, I would expect it not to. Not because the show is bad, as I can't comment on that due to having not watched the show, but the SU fanbase is regarded as among the worst fanbases on the internet for lots of reasons, and many of them wouldn't really be the sort who would actually learn to play the game and would instead be more the sort to get mad at the game for them not knowing how to play it.

Although I love the concept of multiversus, there’s something kind of off about the way the combat is, and I can’t really put my finger on it. It kinda… lacks impact in a way? Everything feels really floaty and there’s some attacks that have weird momentum.
