Can someone answer for me can I demote from plat IV to gold 1 after losing like 5 games cause I searched it up and it said I can lose 20 games in a row without demoting but idk so can I demote from losing 5 games in plat IV

There is demotion protection, defo not 20 games though lol. I think it's 3 games, but might be 5 games. I haven't hit demotion protection for a good few seasons so can't quite remember and I don't see anything in the recent patch notes saying it's changed.

No you get a badge either way. It's just whether it's reactive. For Masters yeah you'd need to get Masters or Pred for a reactive. If you do it in 1 split only you still get a badge, just not reactive.

If you hit masters in split 1 you get the badge non reactive/shiny, if you hit masters in split 1 and 2 you get the badge with reactive and shiny. If you hit masters in split 2 but not split 1 you still get the badge shiny and reactive similar to hitting master in both split 1 and 2. Essentially according to the devs in discord and the website you only need to hit in split 2 Masters to get shiny badge or to hit it both times but it will not be shiny if it is hit only in split 1

I have a question if I hit diamond the first split this season and then hit plat 1 the second split will I still get my diamond badge or does the first split rank not count for anything

Yes you'll get your diamond badge. It was only last season when they did that 2nd split. But everyone complained so they changed it this season.

The ranked system just feels scuffed. Why do we even have entry costs? The rank distribution should be a bellcurve or full decending ladder...

Because if you gain elo for every single game everyone inevitably ends up in masters

They tried doing it with ladder points and fixed costs back in season 17-19 and everyone complained. So they reverted back to this system. I'm not sure if they've though about the kind of system you're suggesting, kind of like Overwatch ranked I guess is what you're thinking.

@@charlotte3201 yeah exactly, thats the point tho. Gold vs gold players should be equally skilled, plat vs plat should be equalyly skilled etc. So you should always be in the skill level you are supposed to be. But that means that gold for some reason has it easier to advance. The problem is that this game doesnt have either win or lose, there are too many grey areas in between. but the problem right now with how you enter different tiers it just a grind. Pred will smoke any lobby, but they just have to GRIND for #1, not be the actual best player. Now for example, diamond players face diamond players who are "equally skilled" but they cant go further as you need to get top 3 vs EQUALLY skilled players to get + points. So beating equally skilled players doesnt work in diamond, you need to crush them to gain RP. Wich feels wierd, as thats not how the game is played in earlier tiers.

no you get your highest badge. so you get a diamond badge. It just won't be a reactive badge.

@@xsavagekingx4g476 Yeah the wording is strange because It does say you have to hit that rank in both splits and you get a badge for your highest rank.

@@thethak no it does not. It says you have to hit the same rank OR higher rank in the second split to get a shiny badge AND your HIGHEST rank will be what you get rewards for. Example: Diamond 3 first split but then you get pred rank 356 second split. You will get a shiny badge since you got the same or HIGHER RANK in the second split. And it will display the pred rank number you had finished in. As long as your rank is the same OR better you get shiny. Because you improved and did better so you get rewarded not punished. But lets say you hit pred rank first split you clearly showed you can hit the highest rank so if you dont get it the second split you will not get animated badge, because you were not successful in staying in that rank or improving. You will still get a pred badge but it wont be animated because you didn’t improve or hit the same rank on the second split. So if you start the bar high just make sure you can hit that same rank the second split or do better the second split in order to get animated. If you hit pred both splits, you will get the number based off highest pred rank placement you achieved and it will be animated because you meet the criteria of “same rank” OR “higher rank”

yeah it's tricky especially with the player numbers down at the moment. Consistency is the main thing for diamond. You have to minimise your losses and really slow down you're game if you're finding points hard to come by.

Every kill/assist after 6 is worth half of a kill/assist. Imagine a kill/assist is worth 10 points. You get 6 that’s 60 points. Let’s say you got 7. In that case it would be 65. Make sense?
