that's true for higher ranks. Diamond and above. They already made some balancing changes based on people doing what I shared in this video, so you might notice a slightly longer wait time. That's aways the dilemma for the devs, do they make people wait longer for balanced games or do they reduce the wait time for faster games but they are more unbalanced lobbies.

The current ranked system in Apex Legends is fundamentally flawed and cannot be fixed without an overhaul of its structure. One of the core issues lies in the implementation of soft resets, which disrupt the competitive integrity by allowing high-level players (Masters and Predators) to compete in lobbies with significantly lower-ranked players. To maintain fairness and competitiveness, Masters and Predators should exclusively face each other in matches, creating a distinct bracket system that ensures skill parity. However, this leads to another critical challenge: player population. If the player base at higher ranks isn’t large enough to consistently fill meaningful and fair lobbies, the system fails to function as intended. This inherent dependency on player numbers makes the current design unsustainable for delivering a genuinely competitive experience. Without addressing both the structural flaws and the population imbalance, the ranked system remains fundamentally broken beyond repair.

yep, I think those are all fair points you raise. They did try to switch up the system in season 17 but ended up changing it back a few seasons later. All I can say is in the last 3 early access events I've attended with the devs, each time they've said they are working on some larger ranked changes to be coming in a future season. Just not sure what season that will be and to what extent they will change the system itself.

@@Solo36999 yeah definitely agree with that, you shouldn't need to have to do anything yourself to try and make your lobbies balanced. Unfortunately at the moment though, this kind of the only legitimate way within your power to try and improve the balancing of your lobbies. BTW I'm not hard stuck plat, I literally have videos on my channel of me getting masters in many seasons, I've just not played much ranked this season :). I did contact EA about the balancing of my lobbies though just like in the video and they did make changes to help, hence why I wanted to share this info wider.

im diamond 4 and hard stuck, im usually one of the best players in the lobby and i keep getting teammates that are plat so i keep losing, i think i have reached my peak in terms of rank, cant seem to go any higher unless i 3 stack with two other diamond players.

Learn to play mirage imo. Bc solo queue even as a lifeline or Newcastle requires ur teamates to help or play with you which won’t consistently happen. Mirage is great for this bc he still gets the fast heal, occasionally an invisible rez, and helps you stay alive longer if u need to craft. On top of the fact that he is really good in 1v2 or 1v3 when ur solo queue teammates might not help you. (I’m a mirage main tho so some bias)

oof, yeah happened to me a lot last season when I was solo grinding to masters. I'd say if you're finding a majority of your lobbies are consistently masters and predators for multiple games running, it's worth sharing your lobby code like I suggested in the video, so the devs can review. Typically diamond does tend to get mixed in with masters and pred but they might be able to use your evidence to tweak it so you at least get a majority of diamond players in your lobbies.

thanks. Sucks you can't buy the coins in the game. Your other option could be just to buy the coins on an external website, like amazon. I assume it will take the voucher code and load it in. Maybe try contacting EA help desk as well.

@@life4youHD Depends on your situation to be honest. I think technically the cheapest way to get them would be to grind to max account level, that rewards you with over 500 packs and therefore guarantees you the heirloom. The question is do you know how many packs you've opened since your last heirloom? If it leaves you with less than 100 packs to reach 500 then I'd say you're better off buying the 100 pack bundle instead of 4 event boxes. It depends when you want the shards as well. You could chance your luck and wait till next season to see if the anniversary event gives heirloom shards again.

I have already 17/38 from opening event boxes on discount, now it's where you say to craft them, I am just trying to figure out, if it's cheaper for me to buy 100+ boxes regular ones to get crafting metal to open event boxes or to spend coins on event boxes :D, I'd love you forever to help me figure it out haha

@@life4youHD oh got you. The crafting advice is only if you have crafting metals. If you don't have any it's likely to be cheaper to just buy the remaining event packs. Especially because as a level 225 I doubt 100 packs will give you anywhere near enough metals to craft the remaining items you need. Apex works on a system where you only get crafting metals when you already own an item. At level 225 I'm guessing you don't own enough items for that to happen as much as you need. Hope that helps, good luck getting your heirloom.

So dumb that this is defaulted to kills and not something you can select in game. Lifeline is my main followed by Wraith at 4k and Bang at 3.6k, but now that Supports are so devastatingly strong, I don't want to play a non-support but it auto selects Wraith if I'm not able to select my character due to Lifeline being taken.

I got shards from some packs and decided to gamble. Got SUPER lucky with Emerald's Edge and Octane's Prototype (wanted both). However, I saw several people that got stuff they didn't like like Boxing Gloves or Mirage's statue. A universal melee weapon like the Demon's Claw (Karambit) may be more worth it if you don't really main anyone in particular or a legend who doesn't have one (Newcastle, Maggie, Conduit, etc.).

yeah you have to wait for the event to end before you can use them. Should be a countdown timer on how how long is left on the store page where the karambit is. Was 60 odd days when it launched. So must be 30ish days left. I've not checked the date since I've bought it to be fair though.

No you don't get heirloom shards instead unfortunately. I'm assuming you didn't get her heirloom through the original event, so it lets you buy the packs to get all the event items but as you already own the heirloom you essentially get nothing after that.

depends where you get the coins from. In game itself without EA play, no $150 is not enough. Maybe see if Amazon has any deals in your region. Once I got 11,500 apex coins for less than half the normal price.

Can you get shards from a pack you get from leveling up because it says it a “rare” apex pack do you need to get a specific pack or is it 0.045% chance regardless of the pack?

The free packs you get from levelling up count. That applies to the chance to get heirloom shards but also to the 500 pack guarantee. same goes for Epic and Legendary packs you earn. Examples of packs that don't count are collection, milestone and thematic event packs.

I contacted EA's live support about a week after the update because I had opened 4 packs at the start of the season that didn't count and they were like "Uhh what, this is the first time someone has mentioned that, must be a bug, I'm gonna keep this conversation and if more people report something like that we'll look into it". about 19,300 depending if you're crafting any. Assuming you've used your apex coins to buy the discounted packs (which is what I advised in the video)
